  • Fair question. In principle diffusing by Las Vegas Valley does not make a lot of sense because the far majority of human activity in Nevada takes place there. But, considering nominator's rationale, closing this as no consensus is the worst possible outcome. So the answer to the question is no, I would not be opposed. Oppose: Honestly, looking at shows in this category, half of these seem to be not really surround narration about vampires. is Duck Dodgers, Adventure Time, Gravedale High, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi really "about vampires" or various topics that happen to include a vampire? Nominator's rationale: The only item is child Category:European-American gangs‎ right now, and all of them are groups that were or are active in the United States. This doesn't fit in parents Category:Crime in Europe or Category:Culture of Europe. No doubt there are what you might call "gangs" in Europe, but they are not to be found in this category. Nominator's rationale: WP:OVERLAPCAT. Unlike Category:Regional Spanish culture that I nominated earlier today, this cat almost completely overlaps with its parent. The only difference is the child Category:Culture of the Basque Country, which is mostly focussed on culture in the Basque Country (autonomous community) in Spain, and has virtually nothing to do with the French Basque Country. Nominator's rationale: WP:ARBITRARYCAT WP:CROSSCAT. The words "regional" and "Spanish" take up multiple ambiguous meanings, depending on the child category. "Spanish" can mean "Spain", "Spanish nationality", "Spanish diaspora" or "Spanish language", while "regional" can mean "city", "autonomous community", "country" (Spain, Canada and the United States), "continent(s)" (Spanish America) or "archipelago" (Caribbean). This is a mishmash. If anything, we should adhere to the category tree, which is indicated by parent Category:Culture of Spain. Category:Culture by city in Spain and Category:Spanish culture by autonomous community‎ fit in that tree, and shoud be upmerged to this parent. The rest does not, and should be Purged.
