- The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Countries at beauty pageants. (non-admin closure) –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 05:10, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Nations at beauty pageants to Category:Countries at beauty pageants
- Nominator's rationale: WP:C2B, compare Category:Lists of countries in beauty pageants and its items List of Miss World countries etc. and Template:Miss World countries and territories. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 22:41, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Rename per WP:C2C. - RevelationDirect (talk) 17:04, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: WP:SUBJECTIVECAT - "dogmatism" is mostly a label philosophers apply to other people who they feel are overly stubborn or insufficiently skeptical of their own beliefs, rather than referring to a specific set of people with a distinct ideology - car chasm (talk) 18:16, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Delete, there isn't an article about Dogmatism and I can't quite imagine what other articles would fit this category. The two articles currently in the category are also, and better so, in parent Category:Dogma. Marcocapelle (talk) 20:14, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Delete per nom and Marcocapelle. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 02:24, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
- Delete too subjective. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:31, 11 June 2023 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Assassinated presidents by continent. (non-admin closure) –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 05:05, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: We generally hold North and South America at the same level as other continents. – Fayenatic London 08:45, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Merge per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:51, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Note: This should be considered along with Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2023_May_27#Category:Assassinated_politicians_in_the_Americas. – Fayenatic London 09:01, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Merge Right now only has one subcategory but, even if there were a second, this seems unlikely to aid navigation, per WP:OCLOCATION. - RevelationDirect (talk) 11:12, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- I was thinking in adding North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. Regards, Thinker78 (talk) 00:07, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- Merge per nom. –Aidan721 (talk) 13:38, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Merge per nom. We don't have (or need) Category:Pan-American presidents or even Category:Pan-American people. For that matter we don't have Category:Presidents by continent but we do have Category:Heads of state by continent; so I would prefer Category:Assassinated heads of state by continent. Oculi (talk) 00:18, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- Merge per nom. Unless the CEO of Pan Am was ever assassinated, "Pan-American" is not an adjective we would use outside of official names such as Pan-American Treaty (1923) or the ideology of Pan-Americanism. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 02:32, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

- Propose merging Category:Games for Windows certified games to Category:Games for Windows
- Nominator's rationale: WP:OVERLAPCAT, essentially the same and redundant subcat. Brandmeistertalk 08:35, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Merge per nom - I suspect that the parent category was likely intended to be a topic category for articles related to the product itself, but in practice all of the members of both categories are gaming software so there's no real need for a separate set category. - car chasm (talk) 18:28, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

- Nominator's rationale: split, the category tree mixes up two entirely different occupations, politicians and economists. Besides for politicians "classical" is not a defining characteristic, they are mostly simply called "liberal" politicians. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:36, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Comment - is a classical liberal economist the same thing as Category:Classical economists? If so, I think we should drop the "liberal" from the economist categories. I also wonder if the economists even need to be split by country - I assume there are probably more politicians than economists, and which country someone is from is more relevant to politicians. If there aren't too many economists, we could rename the categories instead of splitting and just move the economists to Category:Classical economists or one of its subcategories. - car chasm (talk) 18:40, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- That (manually purge and rename) is a better solution indeed, also because many articles in the nationality subcategories are cases of OR categorization. Marcocapelle (talk) 20:37, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Purge and Rename per above - I've also recently made Category:Liberal theorists for liberal political philosophers, who may or may not necessarily also be economists or politicians. From a quick check most of the people who fit in this new category don't seem to be in the above ones unless they were also economists or politicians, but there might be a few in there that fit better as political philosophers than either target category. - car chasm (talk) 19:22, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

- Propose merging Category:Hakusan shrines (2 P) to Category:Mountain faith
- Propose deleting Category:Hiyoshi shrines (3 P)
- Propose deleting Category:Katori shrines (2 P)
- Propose deleting Category:Kotohira shrines (1 P)
- Propose merging Category:Mitaki shrines (3 P) to Category:Mountain faith
- Propose deleting Category:Suitengu shrines (3 P)
- Nominator's rationale: merge/delete per WP:SMALLCAT. Further merge than proposed is not needed, the Shinto shrines are diffused by Japanese prefectures anyway. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:20, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Merge Mitaki shrines to Mountain faith at least.
- Kotohira shrine is one which is fairly significant but most of the related articles are under review or otherwise not up yet. We could delete for now but I think they are important later on. Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (talk to the cutest Wikipedian) 07:05, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, I have added Mountain faith as a merge target for Mitaki shrines. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:54, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

- Propose Deleting Category:Members of British Ornithologists' Union
- Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCASSOC & WP:NONDEFINING
- The British Ornithologists' Union is a membership-based organisation founded in 1858. According to their membership page, standard membership is £45 a year but there are less expensive options for people in school (£20) and people in developing countries (£10). The sibling category for presidents of the group is definitely defining, but just paying dues is not. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:03, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Delete, membership of anything is hardly ever defining. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:11, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

- Propose Deleting Category:British International Studies Association
- Propose Deleting Category:Members of British International Studies Association
- Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCASSOC & WP:NONDEFINING for the subcat; WP:SMALLCAT for the parent cat
- The British International Studies Association is a membership-based organisation with over 1,500 members. According to their membership page, anyone can add themself to that number for £108 per year, although it's much less if you are a student or retiree. Paying dues online or mailing in a cheque is not defining. (No conceptual objection to the parent category, but it currently contains only this subcat plus the main article.) - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:03, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:12, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
