- The result of the discussion was: merge. – Fayenatic London 09:59, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- Propose merging Category:Free biology software to Category:Free science software
- Nominator's rationale: merge, redundant category layer with only one subcategory. Marcocapelle (talk) 20:57, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment I'm a bit astonished that there should exist no free biology sw. Maybe some of them have not yet be found in the depths of Wikipedia? If so, hurry and populate this category. --Just N. (talk) 20:07, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- Merge per nom. If there are no more entries this is a clear case of SMALLCAT case rule. --Just N. (talk) 20:09, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- Merge agree with the reasoning from User:Marcocapelle and User:Justus Nussbaum GavriilaDmitriev (talk • they/them) 17:33, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: keep (non-admin closure). Follow-up see this discussion Marcocapelle (talk) 09:51, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: These give the rather misleading impression that some of the subcategories are for municipal rugby league players. Rathfelder (talk) 19:36, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- Keep - I don't follow the rationale. There are many more in Category:Categories by council areas of Scotland, in particular Category:Sport in Scotland by council area. Oculi (talk) 23:30, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- Category:Rugby league players from Glasgow City Council gives me the impression that they are employed by the council. Rathfelder (talk) 13:24, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment I would not support the proposal: "council area" is fine. I would, however, support a merge of Category:Rugby league players from Glasgow City Council to Category:Rugby league players from Glasgow. Laurel Lodged (talk) 17:56, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Keep -- It is perfectly legitimate to split geographically by county (here, council area). The defect in both trees is that the word "council" appears in the subcat names for Glasgow and Edinburgh. Can the closing admin please nominate these for renaming? Peterkingiron (talk) 18:25, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- Keep --Just N. (talk) 20:12, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

Category:Filipino press secretaries

- The result of the discussion was: merge per Marcocapelle. For the record, the two sub-cats are also in Category:Members of the Presidential Communications Group of the Philippines. – Fayenatic London 09:45, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: There's only one "Filipino press secretary" at any time, which is at Category:Secretaries of the Presidential Communications Office of the Philippines. Presidential spokespersons are another office, and sometimes co-exist with the secretary of the Presidential Communications Office. The secretary, whenever there is a presidential spokesperson, is a "behind-the-scenes" person, while the presidential spokesperson is the one you'd always see on TV. Howard the Duck (talk) 17:20, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- Wait -- There is a rename nom for one of the subcats, and they can quite possibly all be merged. If so this will be redundant and can be deleted them. Peterkingiron (talk) 18:28, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- Merge to Category:Filipino public relations people and Category:Filipino political people, it concerns two unrelated positions. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:49, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
