The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Roman Catholic churches in Nicosia, Sicily. plicit 05:01, 23 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Delete - WP:SMALLCAT. Despite the name, the category is for churches in Nicosia, Sicily, not Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. Nicosia in Sicily is a town of about 13,000 people. We don't have even Category:Nicosia, Sicily. Seems like a clear case of WP:SMALLCAT to me. - Darwinek (talk) 23:40, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I propose altering renaming this entry to Roman Catholic churches in Nicosia, Sicily. The website for Tourism in the region lists 19 churches in the town. Most of them over 300 years old. Rococo1700 (talk) 02:37, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Ambiguous use of the word "countries". The category includes kingdoms, archduchies, duchies, margraviates, princely counties and free cities. They are all just subdivisions. Laurel Lodged (talk) 14:06, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Per SMALLCAT, this category contains only 1 article and an eponymously named category. Category:Sports in Morgan City, Louisiana has no articles of its own and can be deleted if this goes through. User:Namiba 13:47, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: A majority of games with multiplayer elements also have single player elements. There are few games that only have multiplayer modes. This category is best under multiplayer games. (Oinkers42) (talk) 15:21, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, (Oinkers42). Are you effectively saying that we should upmerge to Category:Multiplayer games? That category has only 366 entries compared with 3,885 in the single-player equivalent, but it appears that either of those categories would be suitable for the contents of this combined one. Taking Alien Rage as a random example, it is a member of the combined category but not in either of the other two. Do you think it should be added to both? No Great Shaker (talk) 15:47, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose There are multiplayer games without a single-player element. I.E. there is zero A.I. and the only thing you can fight against is other players, there is simply no way to play these games by yourself. Even modern ones like Battlefield 2042 fall into this category. While they could be upmerged to the categories for single and multiplayer games, there would then be no good way of figuring out which games share both categories, so it would be a net loss of information for no good reason.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 08:14, 2 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • People tend to refer to games like Splatoon (video game) and Mario Kart 64, which have both multiplayer and single-player elements, as multiplayer games. The only cases where the inverse is true is cases where the multplayer takes up such a marginal usage that they are basically a single player game, ie. Super Mario Galaxy. Either way, there is no way to make this category without leaving Category:Multiplayer games almost empty, with only a few exceptions. (Oinkers42) (talk) 15:30, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think I'd refer to either Splatoon OR Mario Kart as a multiplayer game. I'd say they are singleplayer/multiplayer games. The fact is that whether to call them multiplayer or singleplayer when they have both is totally subjective and they should simply be sorted by having both modes. • Delete' per nom. Reasons given are IMHO convincing. --Just N. (talk) 15:00, 11 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - There are a lot of multiplayer-only games, and a lot of modern mainstream popular ones (Overwatch, Fall Guys, Among Us, Team Fortress 2, Fortnite, etc). A category that differentiates videogames with both singleplayer and multiplayer from those with only multiplayer seems apt. There are comparatively much fewer games that have only multiplayer as compared to games with both modes, but the number of multiplayer-only games is not insignificant and I think justifies the distinction. Counter categories depdendent on deleted/redirect categories

Nominator's rationale Contested G8 (for the first two). Category:Pages needing music examples, Category:Articles to be redirected, and Category:Articles with excessive further reading sections (and their monthly subcategories) were deleted or redirected because the templates that populated them (Template:Stub-redirect, Template:Music-examples, and Template:Too much further reading were deleted or redirected at TfD), meaning these counter categories are no longer counting anything. * Pppery * it has begun...
  • If they are no longer counting anything and are simply left over shreds from a legitimate deletion, they can be deleted. However, it would be worth hearing from User: Liz as to why they have objected to deletion (or to the deletion process selected). If it was simply that the wording warns against deletion, then perhaps we can look into putting a note into the documentation of templates such as Template:Counter category that deletion is acceptable in certain circumstances, such as a G8. My assumption is that a legitimate G8 would always over-ride a warning that no longer applies (the warning in this case applies to a working category rather than a redundant one, so the warning is no longer valid as these categories have been made redundant by the deletion of their related templates); however, it would be worthwhile clarifying if that is the case - and putting a note into documentation (either way) to confirm what can or can't be done. SilkTork (talk) 11:12, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz: Could you please respond to this? * Pppery * it has begun... 04:22, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. Completely pointless CfD. They should have researched or even talked with the nom before reverting it, regardless of the pointless "empty tag". Gonnym (talk) 20:52, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
