Nominator's rationale: Because Wikipedia wants to recategorize it with a new name — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renzo487 (talkcontribs)
  • Procedural Close as Duplicate There's already an open nomination for this category right here. Input (pro/con/other) is always welcome there. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:12, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: With only an article for one song and a discography page, this is an unnecessary eponymous category per WP:OCEPON. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 17:58, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCAWARD, Fulbright gives out hundreds of scholarships each year. Thus, the award is non-defining for the academics who receive it. User:Namiba 13:20, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, scholarships are usually not defining. Marcocapelle (talk) 16:03, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete These people are generally already categorized under the alumni category for whichever school this scholarship paid for. - RevelationDirect (talk) 01:52, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: The category is arbitrary and a POV with no RS as to why this category should exist. -- DaxServer (talk) 11:30, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Based on the category creator's contribs, Aspirational Districts Programme is the relevant article. Probably not a POV after all. But is this a political stint and should we have a category to it? -- DaxServer (talk) 12:08, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:NONDEFINING (WP:TRIVIALCAT)
The HSA Foundation is a combination industry trade association and educational consortium that promotes interoperability of computer hardware through "Heterogeneous System Architecture". Samsung, Texas Instruments, Oracle, Huawei, AMD, LG, Northeastern University and the University of Bristol are not defined by this association and few of the articles even mention the HSA. I just listified the category contents right here in the main article for any reader interested in the topic. - RevelationDirect (talk) 01:37, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:NONDEFINING (WP:TRIVIALCAT and WP:PERFCAT)
Techstars is a micro financing business incubator based in Colorado Springs, US that gives startups between $6,000 to $18,000 along with training. Techstars has supported over 1,600 companies according to that article and this category contains 5 of them. 4 of these mention this funding in passing while just 1 goes into more detail which is a weak basis for a category since these companies obviously received other funding sources and other sources of guidance. The current category contents are already listified right here in the main article for any reader intersted in the topic. - RevelationDirect (talk) 01:37, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: no consensus. plicit 12:28, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Should be plural. Jax 0677 (talk) 00:49, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment This is a WP:SETCAT where there are multiple list articles and each one is typically about a single artist. The subcategories of Category:Lists of awards received by musician generally have "musician" without the S but the parent category here is Category:Lists of awards received by American musicians which has an S. - RevelationDirect (talk)
  • Support and upgrade to speedy revert. I don't even understand why this category was moved away from "musicians" to begin with in a somewhat recentish speedy nom, and any other categories moved on a similar bizarre "consistency" argument should also be reverted (that can't even easily be found because there was no nomination page). Sure, "awards received by Aerosmith" is referring to a singular band, but this category is not, so it should be "musicians". SnowFire (talk) 03:24, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - it's a subcat of Category:Lists of awards received by musician, and the grammar is correct (referring to a subcat scheme). Category:Lists of awards received by American musicians is wrong. See Category:Categories by individual for more examples. Oculi (talk) 07:36, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, these are list articles each for a single particular person, it should be singular. "By" is not part of "received by" but "category sorted by". Marcocapelle (talk) 07:57, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. I already voiced my disagreement above. At one point when researching this, I found the original move CFD that set up at least some of these moves, and only one other person commented! This does not deserve very much deference and just needs more eyes, and there's no need to be consistent with an old mistake. "List of awards by musician" in a supercat, fine. However, all of the subcats should be back where they started using the plural. Move them all - it reads crazy and wrong as is, even if "consistent" or grammatical via an unintuitive reading. Don't make people have to make that leap when the plural form is accurate and idiomatic. SnowFire (talk) 15:26, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
