Nominator's rationale: Speedy deletion declined on account of supposedly being populated. The trouble is, all the links in this category have been redirected to the band article, so in fact this category doesn't contain a single article. Richard3120 (talk) 11:55, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment I don't know if having a category only contain redirects is a valid reason for deletion but plenty of redirects are categorized and appear in categories though it is usually the exception rather than the rule. I know when I look at music & musical artist categories, many contain redirects. Liz Read! Talk! 22:47, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Liz: you're right, categories often do contain redirects in among the articles. But when everything is a redirect, I question the point of having a category. I mean, you won't even bring this category up unless you search for it manually knowing its name, so it doesn't seem useful for the average reader because they won't know it exists if they just casually browse the band's related articles.   • Delete. It's not that they are just redirects but they all redirect to the same article. And for band member categories, it specifically states that a "musicians by band" category shouldn't be created even if only one member has an article. There are none here. Oppose, Marcocapelle, I'm not sure that's exactly what this is. See Category:Han dynasty people related to the Three Kingdoms, this should probably be bundled nom is desired. And frankly, I think "and associates" is clearer then having just the name, though it's not immediately clear what the distinction between this one and Category:Officials under Cao Cao is. Nominator's rationale: Each of these contains two articles. Presently, temples are reasonably rare things in the LDS Church, so there is no prospect of populating these any time soon.   • Oppose. These mergers would just make it harder for editors to find the templates, and by requiring multiple categories for each template, they increase the maintenance burden.
