The result of the discussion was: rename. MER-C 09:26, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The main article for this category is "copyright term" which is the general term for the length of time that copyright remains in effect. buidhe 19:51, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Vegetarians[edit]

The result of the discussion was: delete. MER-C 09:25, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: There have been two previous discussions about this category and the consensus was to delete. It is not a defining feature to have a category on this because most on the list are not notable vegetarians. We have a decent category that I have worked hard on expanding Vegetarianism activists, for people who dedicated their life (or a notable aspect of it) to vegetarianism. We do not need both categories. I suggest the "vegetarians" category be deleted. Psychologist Guy (talk) 18:53, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete obviously non-defining. Could be speedied as recreation of a deleted page. buidhe 19:52, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per previous deletions. Oculi (talk) 22:01, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above. The steaks are pretty high, so it's time for the chop. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:19, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Canadian Film Awards[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: rename to Category:Canadian Film Awards (1949–1978). MER-C 09:27, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Canadian Film Awards was the proper name of a specific film award that was presented in Canada from 1949 to 1978, at which time it was replaced with the Genie Awards, which in turn got merged into the contemporary Canadian Screen Awards in 2012 -- but the problem is that it's ambiguous with the general Category:Canadian film awards, which is the standard Category:Film awards by country subcategory for all film awards presented in Canada. The capitalization is the only distinction between the two categories, so there have been instances of people misfiling stuff here that wasn't actually related to the CFAs at all and really belonged in the lowercased name twin. I'm not wedded to the specific name I proposed, if people have a better idea that avoids the less than ideal "defunct" disambiguator, but something clearly needs to be added to eliminate the confusion. Bearcat (talk) 15:00, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That would work too. Bearcat (talk) 20:07, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename somehow to avoid confusion. Personally I like Lugnuts' alternative. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:49, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I like Lugnuts alternative. I would also like Genie Awards and Gemini awards to be treated in the same way. This would then enable Category:Canadian Screen Awards to have its predecessor subcat merged into it. The present name is unsatisfactory, as it is likely to be found (by mistake) by those wanting to know about the present award. Peterkingiron (talk) 13:48, 23 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Health care-related timelines[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: do not rename. MER-C 09:32, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: * Previous discussion

I think this was an oversight. All the member articles of this category are stylized "Timeline of healthcare in X." It stands to reason that this category should match. –MJLTalk 01:35, 8 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, the previous discussion led to using "health care" as the standard spelling. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:41, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Marcocapelle: Then the constituent articles need to be renamed. Until then, I don't see why the category shouldn't match the articles. –MJLTalk 16:08, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Category:Health care by country has a mixture of spaced/unspaced names; is this following local usage in some countries? If so, the article names should match in such cases. But if either some or all of the articles will be renamed, then the nominated category should be kept. – Fayenatic London 21:09, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • we have discussed healthcare v. health care before. There doesnt seem to be any identifiable local usage. It's pretty random, but nobody can agree on which to use. Rathfelder (talk) 09:49, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • We need a well-attended RFC tbh. It's absurd to me that the original RM closed as no consensus (no consensus to rename AND no consensus against it), but somehow there was consensus found in this thread to rename the categories. This is all backwards, and the what the categories are named shouldn't be determining what the articles are called. –MJLTalk 22:05, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • The consensus is to follow the article name. If the article name changes to Healthcare the category name will also change. Marcocapelle (talk) 22:54, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't make sense to me that an article which isn't in this category, which doesn't have consensus for its current name, would be what we would use for the name here. There were a total of four comments in the last discussion, and none of them considered the fact the articles within each category were not all named in the same convention.
Maybe the best path forward is to start another move request since we clearly disagree with the process here. What are your thoughts on that? –MJLTalk 01:47, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • That would procedurally most certainly be the best step. Although the chance of moving seems limited: so far it seems like there is a close to 50/50 distribution in the two ways of spelling. Marcocapelle (talk) 07:05, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Match the parent article. Also request all sub-cats to be renamed accordingly. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:06, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
