- Nominator's rationale: The articles in this category are all for people executed by North Korea. There is no single Korean state in the 21st century (so far). Not sure if this best requires a rename or a separate subcategory though; note that Kim Hae-sun was executed by South Korea in 2001. There are already separate categories for Category:People executed by North Korea and Category:People executed by South Korea. PC78 (talk) 11:39, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

- Support Such categories are for countries, not peninsulas. Both South Korea and North Korea regularly execute people, so they could support individual categories. Dimadick (talk) 08:39, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Lugnuts and Dimadick: On second thought, would it be better to just upmerge to Category:People executed by North Korea? Executions in North (or South) Korea will have only happened in the 20th or 21st century, so is there really any need to diffuse by century? I'm thinking of the recent deletion of Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2019 April 19#Models by century. PC78 (talk) 10:48, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

- Oppose alt merge to Category:People executed by North Korea because it will break the executions by century tree. With models it was a different discussion, because we did not break that one but we abandoned diffusion by period altogether. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:26, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

- Split content into Category:People executed by North Korea and Category:People executed by South Korea. This will leave the odd list article, which can become a main article for the two targets. Delete when empty. Peterkingiron (talk) 14:17, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
