- The result of the discussion was: rename. MER-C 10:58, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Works by Edwin Balmer to Category:Novels by Edwin Balmer
Propose renaming Category:Works by Philip Wylie to Category:Novels by Philip Wylie
- Nominator's rationale: Per established scheme of Category:Novels by writer. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 17:05, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
- Support - use the more specific term. ('Works by' are usually container categories.) Oculi (talk) 17:40, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
Support. All contents appear to be novels. --woodensuperman 10:04, 4 July 2019 (UTC)- Regarding Wiley, I’m definitely Oppose & against renaming, because he wrote not only novels. And the category can be replenished by other works. As for Balmer, I consider renaming possible.--Yasnodark (talk) 12:47, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- You're right, I've just found some screenplays. --woodensuperman 13:11, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- Support Balmer as only contains novels. Oppose Wylie as other articles exist, but Category:Novels by Philip Wylie needs to be created as a subcat. --woodensuperman 13:11, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- Have created 'novels'. Oculi (talk) 13:51, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- Support Balmer to match the actual content. Dimadick (talk) 14:42, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: delete (non-admin closure). Marcocapelle (talk) 20:12, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: WP:OCEPON. Works by is sufficient. --woodensuperman 13:13, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
- Delete as "Works by ..." is sufficient, per WP:OCEPON Andy Dingley (talk) 18:49, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Delete- as it would have been deleted with just 2 subcats, before the unnecessary 'Works' creation (on 3 July 2019). Oculi (talk) 16:33, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- I have just found Category:Songs written by Jimmy Somerville which elevates the 2 July 2019 version into a 'keep'. Oculi (talk) 18:07, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- These belong in the "Works by" category, so still no need for this WP:EPONCAT. --woodensuperman 08:05, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Category:20th-century Czechoslovak painters

- The result of the discussion was: merge manually. MER-C 10:59, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Well, it's the same problem as with Category:20th-century Soviet sculptors, a redundant duplicate category. There are no other Czechoslovak painters by century, because Czechoslovakia existed only in the 20th century (1918–1939; 1945–1992). Thus, Category:Czechoslovak painters (with Category:20th-century painters) will be enough. Russian Rocky (talk) 10:00, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
- Support Merging into Category:Czechoslovak painters - Once again I concur with your analysis - this serves no purpose. Anomalous+0 (talk) 12:35, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
- Merge into Category:Czechoslovak painters per nom. Articles can also be added to Category:20th-century Czech painters and Category:20th-century Slovak painters if their ethnicity is clear. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 08:12, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- Merge per nom and user:filelakeshoe.--Darwinek (talk) 22:14, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- Merge per nom and user:filelakeshoe. This was an artificial country in which there were two Slavic ethnicities, which have now gone their separate ways. There can never be a 19th century or 21st century category, so that the Category:Czechoslovak painters can be directly in a 20th century parent. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:00, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
