The result of the discussion was: keep. Ad Orientem (talk) 22:36, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Propose merging Category:WWF European Champions to Category:WWE champions

Nominator's rationale: This was a minor championship which is non-defining for any wrestler who held it. I would also find deleting it acceptable. TM 22:14, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Category:WWE champions is primarily a container category for all WWE champions, not for those who held the world heavyweight or universal championship.--TM 17:17, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Those opposing this move are not addressing the issue and are simply factually incorrect. Merging the contents of this category into WWE champions will not merge winners of two different titles. Look at the category. There are no biographical articles in it. Please address the issue and look at the contents of the category, not simply the name.--TM 13:09, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • It concerns either a defining characteristic (category to be kept) or it is non-defining (category to be deleted) - so merging certainly does not make sense here. It looks to me like it is non-defining. Marcocapelle (talk) 19:51, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Contains only a list and two redirects to same list. Useless. — JFG talk 13:34, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question, just so we don't end up with a gigantic train wreck here again; as someone unfamiliar with categories, what is the difference between deletion and upmerging? The category itself is useless, but I don't want to make a mess of things and knowing what each process does would help with that. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 15:53, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Upmerging simply means that the content of the category is moved to its parent categories. Marcocapelle (talk) 18:38, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, on further thought. Oculi (talk) 22:40, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Also to Category:Buildings and structures in Gadsden, Alabama. Contains only 2 articles and is unlikely to grow. TM 13:01, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Upmerge for Now While there are obvioulsy other houses in the area, individually notable ones are limited. (No objection to recreating if it ever gets up to 5 or so articles). RevelationDirect (talk) 01:09, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Also merge to Glen Ellen, California. Small category (2 articles) for a small municipality. TM 12:59, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: merge per WP:SMALLCAT, only two Turkish states are relevant here (of which the Seljuk Empire was centered in Iran but stretched into Anatolia) and little chance of expansion. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:23, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Centuries in Bosnia and Herzegovina[edit]

The result of the discussion was: split. MER-C 20:05, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: rename, the medieval state name was simply Bosnia (or Banate of Bosnia / Kingdom of Bosnia). On the other hand a country or region with the name Herzegovina did not exist yet in the Middle Ages and the territory belonged alternately to Croatia, Serbia or Bosnia. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:12, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Nigerian career bloggers[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: merge. (non-admin closure) DannyS712 (talk) 00:16, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: The category usage note here is "The below is the list of Nigerian bloggers by career", but it is unclear what this is supposed to mean. Bloggers who get paid for it? Bloggers who blog about work? There isn't a substantive or defining distinction between this and the parent category, and there's no comprehensive scheme of subcategorizing "career bloggers" as a separate thing from regular bloggers anywhere else either. Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCAWARD (WP:NONDEFINING)
According to Badminton Hall of Fame article, this is one of several Badminton halls of fame and this one is in Colorado and part of the Badminton World Federation. The award is a little obscure: the top hits in a Google search point to Wikipedia, the External link in the article is dead, and the current home page is pretty succinct. In the article space, most make passing references to the award although there are some exceptions that don't mention it at all or include it in the led. This category doesnt' seem defining. The contents of the category are already listified here in the main article. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:07, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@RevelationDirect: I was surprised that there is no specific page for the hall of fame in the official website of BWF. However, I found this document from the website which show the complete list of Hall of Fame Members. -Wongpong (talk) 01:27, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome! I just updated the link Badminton Hall of Fame#External links to avoid the WP:V issue I was alluding to with the main article. If one of us has time, we should also look for some secondary sources to verify notability per WP:NRV. Despite my concerns above about the category, I would be opposed to an AfD nomination for the main article. RevelationDirect (talk) 01:44, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCAWARD (WP:NONDEFINING)
The ICC Cricket Hall of Fame is an award based in Dubai and appears to be internet only at this point. Of the 70+ inductess, the article indicated all but 5 were retired by the time this award started in 2009 so it mostly targets historical players. The editors in the cricket space do an awesome job so we have 5 of high quality starred/Featured Articles to look at: one mentions the award in passing (1), one mentions it in the lede (2), and three don't mention it at all outside the cat/template (3), (4) & (5). This award doesn't seem defining. The contents of the category are already listified here in the main article and each article contains this template. - RevelationDirect (talk) 00:06, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
