Rename If the company has a subdivision in India and is based in another country, it is by definition multi-national, at least as most use the term. Even if a company based in Pakistan with an Indian sub-division and no other operations outside of Pakistan would not be multi-national, it just does not seem worth subdividing in such a way that we would exclude such from this category.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:19, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the members, they appear to be companies owning performance venues rather than groups putting on theatrical performances, so the proposed merger is not the right solution to a name which is misleading, to say the least. Possibly there is another category this should be merged into, but if not someone ought to come up with a better name; I'm afraid I can't come up with one off-hand. That's why I proposed this move. As for your merge proposal, I'm not sure how it would be done as both articles are pretty big. But, I'm certainly open to the possibility. @Marcocapelle:I explained in the Spanish Wikipedia the reasons why the article had to be separated in 2014 and 2017 protests before moving them. 2015 and 2016 didn't have strong wave of protests like 2014 or 2017, and the events during the former years, in my opinion, fit better in other categories, while events of the latter have unique article (Bassil da Costa and Leopoldo López for 2014 and the attacks of the Assembly and the Supreme Tribunal for 2017, for instance. My recommendation is to create the categories Category:2014 Venezuelan protests and Category:2017 Venezuelan protests, since 2014-17 is misleading, although Category:Crisis in Venezuela (2012–present) as a main article sounds alright. --Jamez42 (talk) 21:02, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

SMALLCAT specifically states that it does not apply to situations where a category has an accepted overall scheme of subcategorization, such as a large international umbrella category having its contents diffused by country — because Category:Coming-of-age films by country exists, any country is allowed to have one of these as soon as there's at least one article to be filed in it, and since it's a very common genre of film there is a feasible prospect of expansion.
