Nominator's rationale:WP:SMALLCAT serving to group just two churches on a characteristic of only questionably WP:DEFINING status. While Nova Scotian Settlers were a historic factor in the settlement of Sierra Leone, there's little evidence that their descendants still identify as "Nova Scotian Settler" in any significant way -- so the fact that the original settlers were the original establishers of these two churches has little bearing on who does or doesn't attend them now. If there were five or ten such churches to categorize, then it might be acceptable -- but it's not needed for just two churches. Bearcat (talk) 23:34, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was:no consensus. Good Ol’factory(talk) 00:45, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Unnecessary WP:SMALLCAT for a historical group, which consists solely of the group's head article and one arguably unnecessary subcategory for two churches. The volume of spinoff content needed to justify an eponymous category for this concept simply isn't there. And even if this were to be kept, it would still have to be renamed in the plural, rather than singular, form. Bearcat (talk) 23:12, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. There's already the tortuously titled Category:Nova Scotian Settler (Sierra Leone) people for the main article (which I'm going to rename, since Sierra Leone is a redundancy), and the subcategory is probably not long for this world. Clarityfiend (talk) 02:02, 11 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
To be fair, I think the "Sierra Leone" disambiguator was placed there because the undifferentiated name could be too easily confused with early settlers in Nova Scotia rather than early settlers of another place who came from Nova Scotia. Bearcat (talk) 19:21, 11 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Keep, after merging (see the above and the below discussion) this may still be a viable category. Marcocapelle (talk) 08:13, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Keep -- but merge in all (or most subcategories). The Sierra Leone dab is necessary, to exclude the early colonists of Nova Scotia. The ex-slave colonists of Liberia were (maybe, are) important in Liberia; I suspect that something similar applies to this group in Sierra Leone. Nevertheless, this is a small quasi-ethnicity, so that we ought not to allow a full tree for it. Peterkingiron (talk) 14:35, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Keep Even in the current 1 article format, this is serving as a de facto container category. If the subcategories are deleted, then we can re-evaluate this one. RevelationDirect (talk) 03:45, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: As with Maroon Town below, this is an eponymous two-item WP:SMALLCAT for an individual neighbourhood within Freetown, Sierra Leone -- the only actual contents here are the eponym, and one church that happens to be located in the neighbourhood. Category:Freetown is simply not large enough to require separate subcategories for each individual neighbourhood within it. Upmerge not needed, as both articles are already in either Category:Freetown or an appropriate subcategory. Bearcat (talk) 23:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Unnecessary eponymous category per WP:OCEPON. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:05, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. The only contents here are her WP:BLP and two photographs of her, but that's not a legitimate basis for an eponymous category in and of itself. Bearcat (talk) 22:59, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was:merge, although the articles will actually go in subcategories further down within Category:Buddhist monks. Good Ol’factory(talk) 04:39, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale:Ayya is an honorific title / form of address, and not a specific type of Buddhist practitioner. We don't categorise people by their terms of address, and we don't have Category:The Venerables or Category:Their Excellencies. All articles are already categorised under Category:Buddhist nuns or an appropriate subcat. Paul_012 (talk) 14:02, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Does an area of the city of Freetown need a category? I think not. Clarityfiend (talk) 04:23, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per nom. While a city with a lot of spinoff content, such as New York City or London, might warrant subcategorizing things by borough for size control purposes, Category:Freetown is nowhere near large enough to actually require that sort of treatment — a two-item WP:SMALLCAT for an individual neighbourhood within the city is simply not necessary. Upmerge not needed, as the head article is already in Category:Freetown and the only other article is already in Category:Churches in Freetown. Bearcat (talk) 23:05, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
