The result of the discussion was: delete. Noncontroversial deletion of category created in error. The Bushranger One ping only 05:48, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Category created in error by a new user instead of using a section heading in a userspace draft article. NtheP (talk) 21:52, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Men nurses[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Rename. Timrollpickering (talk) 20:01, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Rename. "Male nurse" is the common construction, not "man nurse". Other similar categories use "male". This could also be merged to Category:Nurses if the feeling is that being male and a nurse isn't appropriate to categorize. 68.190.166.40 (talk) 20:35, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Rename per nom. - jc37 08:35, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per First Ladies and Gentlemen of Argentina. This was opposed on Speedy, but it matches the category name.-- Mike Selinker (talk) 17:53, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Speedy discussion
  • Oppose - while this would indeed match the article name, C2D is not a straightjacket. The subcategories of Category:Spouses of national leaders, in the vast majority of cases, follow two patterns: "First Ladies of Foo", when the spouses are all female, and "Spouses of Foo of Bar", when they are not. It's true that Indonesia and Malawai currently have the "First Ladies and Gentlemen of Foo" naming format, but I believe the more neutral "Spouses of" - which is, as mentioned, overwhelmingly the standardised format, should be retained (and, indeed, if this closes as keep those other two should probably be renamed to this). - The Bushranger One ping only 18:08, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The policy as stated is awkward. It would be simpler and more consistant to refer to them as First Lady of foo and First gentleman of foo.Benkenobi18 (talk) 03:43, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question do we want to limit this category to people who were married to the President while (s)he was in office, or do we want to include anyone who was married to a person who was ever president, or do we want to include the first group plus those who married former presidents? It seems to me that the target name would make it clear we only want the first group, but the current name is less clear on the matter. I am not sure what we want, but I think we need to make a clear decision.John Pack Lambert (talk) 15:26, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Every one of the articles in here is about a First Lady or First Gentleman of Argentina. (Several are also presidents themselves, of course.)--Mike Selinker (talk) 16:26, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename per Selinker's note on the actual content.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:47, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename per Mike Selinker. I think this tree needs looking at. Being married to a politician when they are in power in different then being married to them when they are not in power. If that means opening this up to a wider discussion, then so be it. The proposed name add clarity to the purpose of the category and as such should be the way to go. If this becomes a subcategory of a broader category then there are no issues. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:23, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename per C2C and C2D. The Bushranger One ping only 22:30, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Per main article. Why would the article and category use two types of grammar? —Justin (koavf)TCM 07:26, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Travis (band) album covers. The Bushranger One ping only 00:31, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Not actually images of the band, but single covers--I don't agree with it, but consensus is to move them to "X album covers", so they should be merged into Category:Travis (band) album covers and this deleted. Free images of the band exist on Commons. —Justin (koavf)TCM 06:33, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
