Nominator's rationale the one entry in this category is a Hungarian person (though born in the United States, she emigrated to Hungary) so she should not be in the category because we do not classify people by language sung in when it is the primary language of their nationality. She is an American in Hungary, but if she lives there, she is clearly a singer from Hungary. Nominator's rationale This category is essentially empty. The one article in the category is on a group, not individuals. I am not sure if there is a clear decision on whether groups should be put in categories like this one. Betyond that, the group was formed when Lithuania was recognized as being a country, by people who had clearly been citizens of an independent Lithuania prior to the Soviet invasion, therefore they seem to qualify as Lithuanian nationals and so classifying them by singing in Lithuanian would seem to be duplicate classification.John Pack Lambert (talk) 20:25, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Merge to "Lithuanian singers". We should be be being too strict about categories being limited by legal nationality. We seem to have two well-developed trees, one based on language and another on nationality. This history of Lithuania is complicated, because the USSR gave Lithuania a chunk of adjacent territory. The presetn capital was not part of the pre-war republic. I presume the Russian decision was based on the ethnicity of the population, I think of an area they had recently stolen from Poland. Lithuanian singers, even if not technically of Lithuanian nationality, wqill be of that ethnicity. Nominator's rationale:Delete. This is a prime example of the sublimely ridiculousness of the whole "songs about" theme categorization. The sole member of the category, Singing to the Bus Driver is included because the bus driver smokes. And that is enough to warrant its inclusion in this category about tobacco?
As no copyright is claimed this time I shall quote the lyrics from the article:-
Singing to the bus driver,
bus driver, bus driver,
singing to the bus driver,
bus driver-man.
He drinks and he smokes
and he tells dirty jokes.
Singing to the bus driver,
bus driver-man.
The use of categories by theme are so loosely used that this song could also be included in categories about alcoholics, alcoholic drivers, bus drivers, comedians, singers - and that's just from this verse. I assume that no Euphemism, Simile, Metaphor, Analogy, Allegory, Parable, Figure of Speech, Euphemism or other linquistic is used in the song.
It really is time to delete all these songs by theme, and, if, there is a reasonable social or other criteria, then the creation of an article would be a good idea - providing it does not just descend into a list of unreferenced songs like most of these categories have become.
