FFBot, new function[edit]

Request to expand on the current task of updating {{cleanup}} tags to help out with updating {{wikify}} tags too, to {{wikify-date|...}} as Pearle does currently. Just to help reduce the load off Pearle, and in case the other bot goes offline/on holiday. Thanks, — FireFox (talk) 16:14, 26 August 2006

Since another bot already does this, the only question is how would they load share, and how similar is the code for these functions?Voice-of-All 15:04, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well if my judgements are correct, Pearle doesn't usually edit late in the evening (UTC) which is when my bot usually runs. I don't think sharing the load would be a problem; there are two or three bots that currently update the {{cleanup}} tags, and they work perfectly together. The code between the cleanup and wikify functions is very very similar – the only real differences between them are the words "cleanup" and "wikify". — FireFox (talk) 15:21, 27 August 2006
So the code is a copy (same langauge and text) of Pearle's, just modified?Voice-of-All 16:34, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, the code isn't similar to Pearle's. I probably mistook the question. FFBot is an AWB bot. — FireFox (talk) 16:51, 27 August 2006

FFBot, second function[edit]

Quite simple: replacing {{cleanup}} with {{cleanup-date|...}}. There is at least one other bot which does this, but in my opinion, the more bots there are to do the job, the more efficiently the job gets done. — FireFox (talk) 20:38, 9 August '06

I see no problem with it. Want the AWB settings file? If so, you'd be running the same code as another bot approved for the function. alphaChimp laudare 02:11, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mind, it's not hard to set up (I think). — FireFox (talk) 11:04, 12 August '06
Straight forwad enough good ahead. --pgk(talk) 19:46, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. — FireFox (talk) 20:14, 14 August 2006

FFBot, third function[edit]

This will be the third function if the below request is approved. I'd like approval for FFBot to help out with Wikipedia:CfD – I've noticed there is often a slight backlog here and I see no problems with having another bot to help out. If approved, it will move all involved pages into a different category per the discussion result, and then I'll delete the old category. — FireFox (talk) 18:08, 13 August '06

Give a cpl diffs pls -- Tawker 19:01, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
