open cases

[edit]

Do we have a process in place to list for instance all the open cases for which I am advocating? User:Pedant 17:25, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... Do you mean just a page where we can list our own open cases per Advocate? Or something more along the lines of a talk page section? If it's the former, I'm sure that we can set up some sort of category system where we can list things automatically, and if that's the case let me see what I can tinker with. :-) אמר Steve Caruso (desk/AMA) 17:48, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is an Advocate supposed to do?

[edit]

I had an Advocate for a while but it did not seem very helpful. The Advocate did on a few occasions politely ask people to stop harassing me. However, this was inconsistant and as the Advocate never contacted me I usually learned about these interventions accidently and long after the fact. The reasoning behind the interventions was never explained to me (the policies, guidelines etc.) so I was not learning ways of taking care of myself. I asked for feedback on my own behavior but received none. The Advocate did not answer email, never initiated contact with me, never suggested or explained anything although I requested this as my primary objective in my original application and subsequently in email and post to my Advocate.

Are there Advocates who do interact with the persons they are advocating for? Or am I considered a "difficut case" since after I received my Advocate an "unbiased" Arbitrator was appointed (who had a history of supporting my attackers) and the first thing he did was file an ANI against me on behalf of my attackers labelled "Mattisse Redux", making me a joke. Am I too stigmatized to receive a helpful Advocate?

Is there another process (perhaps AMA is not the proper place) to get questions and honest feedback such as I asked for in my origninal AMA request? Or am I asking for the impossible at Wikipedia? (I cannot do it publically as I am usually stalked at places like the Techical Pump or my question is used against me a new ANI.) Thank you. Sincerely, Mattisse 20:04, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Advocate oversight

[edit]

How and where is Advocate oversight being handled? I'm asking as you've an advocate, Geo.plrd, who has been advising an editor who is currently on a 1 week block for disruption to expand the conflict offsite to the Free Republic messageboard: "Maybe you should pay a visit to Free Republic, and mention your treatment here" [1] You don't need me to tell you that the role of advocates is to resolve disputes, not fan the flames, and that advocating expanding conflicts to recruit meatpuppets is highly frowned upon by the community. Please let me know how and where to file a request for a review of this advocate's activities, others have noted that this is not an isolated incident [2] so it would be wise to look into this. please note that i am not Raspor's advocate. On that on that page i advised him to rationally explain what he would like to add, providing sources. Geo. 20:16, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
