Renominating per WP:NJOURNALIST; first AfD was inhabited by socks. First nom pointed to a bio asserting he is "award winning". What award? Does it meet requirement "has won significant critical attention" per NJOURNALIST? ☆ Bri (talk) 18:40, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Neutral for now. While the subject is a prominent Pakistani columnist but unfortunately he fails to meet WP:NJOURNALIST and even basic GNG. I'm also unable to retrieve any information about the type of award he received. I think I'm willing to change my !vote to Keep if someone create stand-alone entries on the books - the subject authored. Yet to see if they merit one. --Saqib (talk) 17:31, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Here are some links I found:
  • Journalist Zahid Hussain's new book (this is a newspaper article title used by the Dawn newspaper and then the article goes on to talk about his book in depth.
  • 'Frontline Pakistan' launched in UK (The book, "Frontline Pakistan: The Struggle with Militant Islam", written by Pakistani journalist, Zahid Hussain, has been widely appreciated by the academic, political and diplomatic circles of Britons...). This is a 'quote line' from the newspaper The News International itself.
  • Saba Imtiaz (13 December 2010). "The Relentless Rise of Islamic Militants in Pakistan: Up in the air". The Express Tribune (newspaper). (This newspaper starts the article by saying, "While veteran journalist Zahid Hussain's articles are always worth a read,...". Then the article talks about the book written by Zahid Hussain in most of its article.
  • Zahid Hussain's book and profile as a journalist on Simon & Schuster website

If given a chance, I can go ahead and edit to incorporate these above links into his article plus anything else I find. Ngrewal1 (talk) 16:10, 8 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ngrewal1: See if you can create pages on the books authored by the subject, if they pass relevant WP:N guidelines. --Saqib (talk) 16:38, 8 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib: Sure. I can try, Saqib. Need some time, though. Ngrewal1 (talk) 17:00, 8 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Keep One sock was on the last AfD, it was still a 2/1 close (socks plural?). Looks like GNG or/and WP:NJOURNALIST are met. Bellezzasolo Discuss 10:20, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct, there was one sock at the last AfD. I was thinking of the two identified socks involved in the article itself, including its creator. ☆ Bri (talk) 20:21, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep This was a tough decision, but there does seem to be enough evidence out there on the web for the subject to scrape by on experience and a consistent track record of recognized work in journalism. Of course, most of that evidence isn't apparent on the article here; it really needs a bit of work. The subject in and of himself, however, seems to be notable enough for inclusion.
