Merge to Charles_Manson#Tate_murders - or to a separate article Tate murders which has been proposed at related AfDs. He is known only for having been murdered by the Manson gang; before that nobody had ever heard of him. He is described as an actor and writer; in fact he had a few tiny uncredited roles in minor movies, and according to Bugliosi's book Helter Skelter, he claimed to be a writer but none of his friends had ever actually seen anything he had written. For related discussions see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abigail Folger (closed as merge), Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Steven Parent, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jay Sebring. - Delete. You are write, I didn't look deeper into the claims of writer and actor. Doesn't seem to pass the notability threshold. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:24, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- Comment In these related AfDs, several people have suggested that a merge to a new article Tate murders would be better than a merge to Charles Manson. See Talk:Charles Manson#Split off Tate murders? to discuss this idea. MelanieN (talk) 23:16, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

- Rename and create Tate murders article as suggested by nominating editor at Talk:Charles Manson#Split off Tate murders?. Subject falls under WP:BIO1E, and the event itself is notable, and has received persistent coverage long after the event occurred.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 03:25, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- Redirect to Charles_Manson#Tate_murders. Add'l info provided in this article amounts to trivia about an otherwise unnotable murder victim. Perhaps that article section should be broken out into a separate article, but better to handle that with talk page discussion there. --Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 14:30, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
