Sole source for subject is not just from a National Biography entry from 120 years ago, but in fact the FATHER of a subject of a National Biography entry ca. 1900. Notability thus does not meet WP:ANYBIO, and anyway his actual contributions to government seem scant. JJLiu112 (talk) 06:24, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

- Comment: I have added references on the subject's activities in government regarding the slave trade. Clearly a significant functionary on that topic, though that may not be sufficient for biographical notability here. AllyD (talk) 09:16, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Keep. He had a full obituary in The Times. We have generally considered that an obituary in a major newspaper is sufficient for notability. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:03, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

- Keep As mentioned above a substantial obituary was published in the Times. He also has an entry in the ODNB, even though it's included within his son's entry about half of the biography is about William Piecesofuk (talk) 15:37, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
