Subject is only recently significant due to a single event. No coverage outside of this event. Only 4/7 sentences in the article are even about him. v/r - TP 02:01, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- comment(article creator) i agree 1 event is a concern; however: "If the event is significant and the individual's role within it is substantial and well-documented—as in the case of John Hinckley, Jr., who shot President Ronald Reagan in 1981—a separate biography may be appropriate. The significance of an event or individual is indicated by how persistent the coverage is in reliable sources." we have here sustained international coverage. npr piece puts context of history of kidnappings. i would prefer to have a reliable source about his world bank experience. hard to say if it will rise to the level of Daniel Pearl. - Keep - per IP source. problem solved.--BabbaQ (talk) 18:38, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - one event, yes, but it's too soon to say this person is non-notable. Being an American contractor taken hostage in Pakistan is highly unusual and a definite claim to notability, and this story has already received significant coverage in international media. - Keep Notable as an author [1] , an expert in particular on Burundi, , quite disregarding the news aspects. DGG ( talk ) 04:56, 9 December 2011 (UTC) .[reply]
