Vladimir Mironov (entomologist)[edit]

Fails WP:NACADEMICS; there's no evidence that the subject has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline. The article relies on a single primary source and virtually nothing seems to be known about him apart from the species described by him. • Delete as per proposer; no evidence of sufficient notability. Peter coxhead (talk) 14:23, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom, fails WP:NPROF. --hroest 00:51, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Beyond the single-digit citations giving a failure of WP:PROF#C1, we also have nothing about him beyond his few publications to use as the basis for a verifiable article. —David Eppstein (talk) 04:50, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, per nom and others. This also has by far the most recent date for which I've seen floruit used... JoelleJay (talk) 06:06, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete On some other language Wikipedias, having named species is considered qualifying for notability, but it isn't enough for EnWiki (and rightly so). He has a decent Wikispecies entry, which is where he belongs. Hemiauchenia (talk) 19:50, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to an appropriate list, such as List of Estonian entomologists (not sure what nationality this person is), or else delete. There are a number of these sub-stubs, concerning people with absolutely no notability outside having described a couple genuses of insect. jp×g 00:29, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@JPxG: Mironov is Russian according to his Wikispecies entry. If List of Russian entomologists were to be created, I agree that would be an excellent redirect target; I like what you did with List of Estonian entomologists. Lennart97 (talk) 08:33, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Estopedist1: The current article on Mironov doesn't list his 100+ taxons, so his entry in a list of entomologists wouldn't have to do so either, right? It seems to me that whether to create a category for his taxons is a separate issue from whether to merge his article into a list. Lennart97 (talk) 12:20, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
