The result was delete. It is true that GNG can supersede ATHLETE, but it has not been shown that he passes GNG either. King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 22:34, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Contested prod, fails WP:ATHLETE as has made no professional appearances for any club and may not for many months, years etc The Rambling Man (talk) 10:10, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete. Non-notable youth player. It also should be "footballer" instead of "soccer" since it's not American. Spiderone (talk) 12:23, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Per above comments. –Turiantalk 12:30, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - subject just signed with a fully professional team and was placed on the first team roster. It would be pointless process to delete at this point. Additionally, the failing ATHLETE doesn't mean a subject can't be included - anyone can still be included if they meet the GNG which this player clearly does. (There is an American football player by the same name, so you have to add qualifiers like "ipswich" "fulhum" "welsh" etc to your search to find info about the correct player.) --ThaddeusB (talk) 15:00, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment the article can very easily be recreated once he has made professional appearances. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:05, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the regular season begin a week from tomorrow? If it's the former, this will be a moot point by the time this is decided. Still, not sure why it has to be nominated today. Mandsford (talk) 19:32, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - fails WP:Athlete since he hasn't played in a fully professional league. Clubs have loads of players on their books who don't make the grade. If we keep this article and, for example, he has a career-ending injury before he plays we are stuck with a page on a nn person. TerriersFan (talk) 19:56, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Mandsford is just wrong. JBsupreme (talk) 21:44, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - this player fails both WP:ATHLETE (as he hasn't "competed at the fully professional level of a sport") and WP:GNG (as he hasn't "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject"). Recreate if & when he meets either of these guidelines in the future. GiantSnowman 17:03, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
