The Calling (sculpture)[edit]

Public sculpture that isn't notable. The only reference on this article is a dead end (the government department that it references has changed its name and I can't find the page). I can't find anything else to do with the sculpture, no significant coverage online and can't find anything to prove its notability. I've only found one single image of it, but that's it. Comment. It's become a somewhat iconic sculpture for Belfast. Google "The Belfast Art Guide". It might be better to have an article for Paddy McCann, see his CV. His work is owned by the Arts Councils of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, but doesn't seem to be in major museum collections. StarryGrandma (talk) 21:04, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Keep I added a couple of decent references from periodicals. There is not a lot of reporting on the piece, but as StarryGrandma says, this is the kind of thing that unfailingly enters the public consciousness, as it is permanently installed. Just the creation of a permanent work, in public, could be considered to satisfy WP:ARTIST, in that the artist has created a major permanent public work. I'll bet 1 of every 100 local residents could tell you the name of the artist-- and that 99/100 could tell you where the sculpture is. HappyValleyEditor (talk) 21:54, 21 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@HappyValleyEditor: A public work does not simply make it notable, it ought to have coverage to justify an article on its own. The article just gives a description of what it actually is.
