Sludge metal[edit]
Another imaginary music genre. What is it about metal fans that they all think they have to invent new style names every five minutes? As usual, none of the bands listed are described using this term on their own article pages. —Wahoofive (talk) 04:55, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Actually this is a genre I've heard of and I'm pretty sure is notable (even if the music is as bad as the genre name suggests)... and AMG has too, lists bands as sludge metal and has a page for the genre. See Crowbar and Down for two sludge metal bands. Both have articles on WP: Crowbar (U.S. band) and Down (band). - Comment - This genre wasn't just invented 5 minutes ago, it's been around since at least the early '90s. Also, if you've listened to the ones that just say "heavy metal", it's pretty obvious they're not actually the original heavy metal. - Dysfunktion 16:08, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep - Sludge metal is a significant and relatively oft-referred to genre, although it is somewhat "narrow" compared to other metal genres. This article should definitely be kept. Night 07:19, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
