The result was speedy keep. For unreferenced BLPs, WP:BLPPROD applies, not AfD. Furthermore, a reference has been added to the article. Therefore the basis for deletion is moot, and no one is suggesting deletion, invoking WP:SK criterion 1. (non-admin closure) J 947 ^{^{^(c)}}, at 04:37, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Keep The article has one WP:RS. Which is from a major Canadian newspaper. If they are chronicling his biography internationally, he is probably notable enough to pass WP:GNG.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 15:17, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
