The result was Speedy rename to Saxon River (no redirect) — this was the name the article would have been at if not for some undetected old vandalism to a redlink. Grutness...wha? 06:36, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Created by bot from list at List of rivers of New Zealand, but it seems to be a spurious entry to the list. the reference given doesn't list a Sarah River, and a google search for "Sarah+River" + Zealand - Wikipedia" turns up nothing other than mirrors of us and a woman called Sarah River. - Delete: Can not find any river of that name in geographical sources. Daveosaurus (talk) 08:51, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- It does seem rather obscure, though Sarah does exist among New Zealand place-names. Namely Lake Sarah, Sarah Cove and Sarah Gully. The last is a gorge. It may be that a stream flows in it. (See New Zealand Geographic Placenames Database. Enter Sarah in the box.) Failing better information, it may be better to delete it. RJPe (talk) 09:31, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Sarah Gully, according to the coordinates on that site (which is the same one I used to confirm that there was no Sarah River, BTW), is in the Waitakere Ranges to the west of central Auckland. No Sarah River is marked on that location's page in the AA Greater Auckland directory, which lists the names of almost all the creeks and streams it shows. Unless someone can come up with a highly detailed map of the Auckland Centennial Park/Waitakere Ranges area which shows the Sarah River, I'd be prepared to say it likely doesn't exist (if it does it should be on the NZGP Database) Grutness...wha? 09:56, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Rename, to Saxon River per this edit. LINZ has Saxon but doesn't have Sarah either in the archived database or current spreadsheet of placenames. Paperspast had one mention of a Sarah's River. XLerate (talk) 01:31, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- More than faintly suspicious. Renaming seems appropriate. May I close this and do that, or should we wait for an uninvolved admin? Grutness...wha? 01:45, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I think it's fine to wrap it up / non-controversial speedy rename. XLerate (talk) 02:27, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
