- Ryan Murphy (Politician) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (delete) – (View log)
Non-notable politician, does not meet WP:BIO for politicians. No evidence of notability outside his political candidature has been provided. Given that the creating editor is User:Liberal lytton there is an inherent conflict of interest. Mattinbgn\talk 04:38, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Strong delete per WP:POLITICIAN. --/Mendaliv/2¢/Δ's/ 07:15, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. No content, no chance in hell of being elected. Rebecca (talk) 08:02, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete being a candidate avoids an A7 I suppose but he still isn't notable. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 13:13, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete is currently just a candidate for an unimportant position. Contains no refs whatsoever. I'm an Editorofthewiki[citation needed] 13:37, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd say that a seat in the Queensland Legislative Assembly, and the one of the current Deputy Premier as that is most certainly not an "unimportant position"! Lankiveil (speak to me) 05:00, 22 June 2008 (UTC).[reply]
- Hmm, it just said he was a candidate for the "Queensland State Election" and not being from Australia, I had no idea what it meant. Still, delete for chrystal ballery, and he's what, 20? I'm an Editorofthewiki[citation needed] 13:26, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment While I would argue that politicians are inherently notable, I don't know enough about him to make a voting decision. I would suggest to dig deeper into Murphy's backgrounds, and see if this merits a delete. Arbiteroftruth (talk) 05:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, unverifiable at this stage. Pre-selection for major parties will not occur until closer to the election, and it's by no means certain that Murphy will even be the Liberal candidate. If he's running as an independent or minor party politician, then notability is even harder to establish. I was not able to find any coverage on this person for non-political activity, but then "Ryan Murphy" is a pretty common name in Australia. Lankiveil (speak to me) 05:00, 22 June 2008 (UTC).[reply]
- Delete Only a candidate. If he gets elected he is welcome to have an article. --Roisterer (talk) 09:54, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete With the option to recreate if he gets elected. Five Years 06:05, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, candidature in itself is not sufficient for encyclopedic notability, would need the general "significant coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject" test. None are present. Recreate if he does end up standing and wins the electionm although looking at the Electoral district of Lytton's voting history it seems unlikely. --Stormie (talk) 03:30, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. While surprises do happen, I'd say a Liberal running for the seat of Lytton has very little chance of reaching our standard of notability. Candidature in itself, as others have mentioned, is not grounds for notability per WP:POLITICIAN. Orderinchaos 16:49, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
