The result was speedily Redirect to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night; objections can go through usual channels (non-admin closure). Nifboy (talk) 03:06, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Ring of Varda (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (delete) – (View log)
Article gives no indication of its real-world notability. A Google search reveals no coverage outside forums discussing the game, and those don't suggest it's special enough to have attracted any mainstream sources. Was originally tagged for speedy with db-bio, which is clearly wrong. Olaf Davis | Talk 16:44, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Leaning towards Strong Delete Clearly isn't Notable --Numyht (talk) 17:00, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Note: This debate has been added to the list of video game related deletions. MrKIA11 (talk) 17:01, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Speedy Redirect to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night: AfD is wholly unnecessary. Nifboy (talk) 18:01, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Delete— Lacks out-of-universe notability. I don't think many people on Wikipedia are going to think about the Ring of Varda let alone search for it to the point of necessitating a redirect. MuZemike (talk) 19:06, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I do, however, understand the rationale behind redirection. I change to Weak Delete or Redirect. Rationale above remains the same. MuZemike (talk) 19:10, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I was going to say delete as there's no way that a powerful but otherwise unspectacular video game item would be better off with an independent article, but I'm for redirect after being beaten to this by Nifboy. An AfD isn't the only way to exercise editorial discretion, guys. I can't imagine that a redirect - either via asking on this article's talk page first or via doing it and leaving a msssage on the Castlevania game's talk page - wouldn't work. (With that said, a warning: People are still sore from an incident of en masse redirecting that the ArbCom eventually ruled to be an attempt to be an attempt to get that editor's way by force and bypass discussion when it was necessary. Doing more than an occasional redirection would be a bad idea.) --Kizor 19:29, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect per Nifboy.—RJH (talk) 22:46, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
