Poorly written (grammar and style) by Russian contributor User:Олег73рус. Interpunction issues. Formatting errors in references. Aaron-Tripel (talk) 16:51, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

- Delete The grammar is fine. The article layout is good. The concept is excellent and this is a notable topic. I want to see more articles about industry in countries. However, articles have to start with good references, and this one does not have those right now. Олег73рус, can you fix the citations to the articles you are trying to cite? Even plan URLs would be fine. Thanks. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:09, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
- Procedural keep. Being poorly written is NOT a valid reason for deletion (if it were, Wikipedia would shrink drastically). WP:FIXIT applies. Also, it should be Pipe industry of Russia. Clarityfiend (talk) 22:08, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
- Keep - many of Russia's post-Cold War conflicts have had their genesis in pipe-laying and it makes sense to have an article about the industry that supports that decision-making. The industry represents a significant portion of the country's economy. Decisions about notability should be based on the sources available to support an article, not the sources currently listed in the article itself (which I agree are inadequate). This is a notable subject and the concerns above are WP:FIXTHEPROBLEM problems. This 2009 analysis by the United States International Trade Commission gives a pretty good overview (p.IV-25) of the post-Cold War pipe manufacturing industry in Russia. - Keep. Per Clarityfiend, the deletion rationale is invalid. On top of that, there are plenty of sources on this topic, including "Russian Pipelines", "Upgrading Russian enterprises from the value chain perspective: the case study of tube & pipe, and furniture sectors". I have moved the article to the correct capitalisation. SpinningSpark 18:15, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
- Keep. Per Clarityfiend, the deletion rationale is invalid. Beyond that, copyediting will fix the grammar and punctuation problems. This is an important industry in a very important country. --DThomsen8 (talk) 21:49, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
