The only source to mention this figure is the Clementine Recognitions, as part of its clearly anti-pagan "black catalogue" of Jupiter's "adulteries". This figure doesn't appear to be mentioned in any secondary source, even the most comprehensive encyclopedias such as Smith and Brill's New Pauly, so the article fails WP:GNG. There is also nothing here which isn't already at Proteus. – Michael Aurel (talk) 23:57, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

- Redirect to Proteus. This fails Wikipedia:Notability. Here's a source assessment table:

- Why delete when a redirect would suffice? IAmHuitzilopochtli (talk) 21:55, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- "Reason given" establishes it is not notable, but that should not favor deletion over an WP:ATD such as redirection. IAmHuitzilopochtli (talk) 21:58, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- Redirect to Proteus, as a merge. He may not be independently notable, but classical/medieval literary figures connected with Proteus should generally be mentioned on his page, if there's room—and he's already mentioned there. So this should be a merge, not a delete. P Aculeius (talk) 18:17, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
Redirect this isn't notable, verifiable, sure, but that's it Salted and then canned meat product (talk) 03:26, 6 August 2023 (UTC)(WP:SOCKSTRIKE)- Redirect to Proteus for the time being, as not notable on its own until more sources are found, but no reason to deny the interested reader easy access to the one sentence to say about him. That's a fun one, as there seem to be a number of uses of the name Nympheus, but only the "son of Zeus" one being present at Wikipedia (or Wiktionary for that matter): Nympheus also seems to be a spelling of Nimfeum, place of nymphs/[1], an ancient town/[2] or harbor/[3], painting by Monet, textile, two different rivers and a cave mentioned by antique authors, a bay (at one of the rivers?), a "Saracene general", and more. I wonder if there is any reasonable way to present these different meanings to the Wikipedia user. Daranios (talk) 10:22, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
