- Delete. Non-notable local official, fails WP:POLITICIAN. WWGB (talk) 13:58, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- SPEEDY KEEP - Mike Sanders is the current chief executive of a county with more than 600,000 people. The county includes Kansas City, Missouri (Sanders was considered a possible candidate for KC Mayor) and among its assets is ownership of the Truman Sports Complex. Further Sanders was prosecuting attorney during several high profile cases in the city. This nomination occurred less than five minutes after the article's creation. I started the article as part of a list of chief executives of the county that includes Harry S. Truman. A simple google search shows numerous reliable third party sources about him and WP:NOTE sets a standard of third party sources being the prime consideration for notability. Item #2 of the quoted WP:POLITICIAN criteria is clearly met based on third party coverage. Americasroof (talk) 14:20, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - Since the nominator is not from the United States I believe that he may not have realized that county executive is the formal title of the chief executive of counties -- particularly counties with large populations -- in the United States. Without that knowledge the position may seem trivial Americasroof (talk) 15:04, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep for now. I am not completely convinced that this meets #2 of WP:POLITICIAN, however, his county does contain a major US city. In good faith, I think the original author (above) should be given a bit more time to develop this article. Location (talk) 16:08, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - But we need more WP:RSes or else this will likely go back to AFD in the future. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 16:28, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete. Sorry, but I don't see him passing WP:POLITICIAN. A county of 600,000 isn't all that special. There are lots of them. Coverage of simply doing his job (ie "Sanders said this at the meeting") or just being around the community (ie "Sanders appeared at the Rotary Club breakfast") doesn't seem notable to me. It seems like the pedestrian, ordinary fuction of someone in that position. Notable doesn't mean ordinary, it means beyond ordinary. Niteshift36 (talk) 05:29, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
