Delete. The player has not taken part in a first-class cricket match and so fails WP:CRIN, lacking the required notability for an article. Jack | talk page 15:35, 24 September 2017 (UTC) Withdrawing the nomination because he now meets terms of WP:CRIN having played in a senior match. • Comment: There is a reasonable possibility he will make his debut while this discussion is in progress. StAnselm (talk) 20:48, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. His playing for Australia in that unusual fashion has resulted in multiple articles dedicated to him. Goes beyond a blp1e situation due to his maintained profile as part of the NSW squad. duffbeerforme (talk) 21:56, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. He is famous in Australia on social media and is regarded as a 'cult hero' due to his subfielding for Australia. I saw this, even if beside the normal criteria, as a suitable reason to create the page.

  • Comment A user who is new to the project created this one, and was not up to speed with the ins and outs (hey, a cricket reference!) of the project and notability. I dropped a note on their talkpage about WP:NCRIC a few days ago. For this one, I'd like to WP:IAR and keep this, on the basis that New South Wales will play two matches before this AfD runs its course, and it's likely he'll play in that time. If he doesn't, then delete it and chase me out of town with your pitchforks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:19, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Wait and see. Per Lugnuts, it's reasonably likely that he'll play a match this week, and therefore pass WP:NCRIC. If he doesn't, then he doesn't meet WP:GNG in my opinion, and so should be deleted. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:28, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete does not currently meet notability criteria. If he does in the future the article can be recreated, but we keep articles now passed on what has occured to this moment, not on future possibilities.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:06, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment despite being better sourced than a lot of WP:CRICKET BLPs, he doesn't meet WP:NSPORTS or WP:GNG. His team have matches in the next few days, so the situation may change. Hack (talk) 03:01, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep - he seems to be the primary subject of a number of reliable, secondary sources - the Sydney Morning Herald and abc for example - as well as other sources such as the Daily Mail and Fox News. My query would be on WP:ONEEVENT, but he's certainly close to meeting the GNG on these sources in my view. I'd hazard a guess that more local/regional press could also be found. From that perspective I would suggest keeping with the aim of building on sources. Blue Square Thing (talk) 15:35, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: appears to meet WP:CRIN now. He is playing in a List A one day game today for New South Wales against Western Australia at the WACA. Depending on how he goes, he will likely play more games in the JLT Cup this year and probably also Sheffield Shield. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 06:28, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep based on the range of GNG sources for his sub fielding, alongside the fact that he now meets WP:NCRIC, having played a List A match. Harrias talk 06:46, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy keep - as expected, he made his debut today and thus passes WP:NCRIC. StAnselm (talk) 07:48, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy keep as he now passes WP:NCRIC. Joseph2302 (talk) 08:34, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@BlackJack: - would you like to withdraw the nom now he's made his debut? Or, if you prefer, we settle this like real cricketers men, with a good old-fashioned fight in the small hours outside a nightclub :D Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:41, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Lugnuts: Ha, ha! It's always been the case with cricket that a brawl is never very far away. Yes, I will withdraw the nom. I suppose he'll end up playing for Australia in a few months. All the best. Jack | talk page 15:20, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
