Article fails WP:Notability and WP:CSD #A7. The only solid source is national Czech Television web, however Czech Television only says about Michal David that he was former jazz musician, that's all. Source no. 2 says NOTHING about time when Janecek's hiring michal david. Source no. 3 doesn't says anything about "Nenapovidej" was a "hit song" in "popular" TV show "Hitsarada" (only mentioning "Hitsarada") - WP: OR. You should use Google Translator to check it out. - Keep. A representant of the terrible pop-music of communist times in former Czechoslovakia. However, he is still very well known in the Czech Republic. In 2006, Czech Television dedicated him a part of the documentary series called Thirteen Chamber. Here is an interview in magazine Týden (Week), which I consider as a reliable source. Currently he tries to play jazz!! Very funny. Source: Czech online server iDnes. It is possible to find much more. Speedy keep, in my opinion. --Vejvančický (talk) 19:40, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: "he is still very well known in the Czech Republic" Oh really? And where is some notable sources? However idnes only says that some people (Jitka Kocurova, Zdenek Izer) remembers that "good old days" (crap), and that's all. I think Michal David article isn't significant for English Wikipedia. I rather create some article about Somali pirates and that article will be more worthy than Majkl Dejvid's. RockandDiscoFanCZ (talk) 21:16, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Look at WP:IDONTLIKEIT, please. --Vejvančický (talk) 21:26, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Heh, but I don't say "I hate Michal David" directly, note about Somali pirates was just for comedy purposes, you know. RockandDiscoFanCZ (talk) 13:48, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep ... although I hate his music and would like to see him deleted. Nah, just kidding. Speedy keep. One of the most prolific and rich singers of the communist era in Czechoslovakia. - Darwinek (talk) 20:35, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: WP:POV. Where is some sources that says "he is the most profilic singer of the communist era"? The article needs more references. RockandDiscoFanCZ (talk) 21:16, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Of course, RockandDiscoFanCZ. Isn't it better to improve the article, rather than nominate it for deletion? According to your userpage you're a Czech, and you seem to be also a disco fan :) You should know that Michal David is notable enough also for English Wikipedia. --Vejvančický (talk) 21:23, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, I also put template on that article, also I commented it on its talk page, but eh... nobody did anything. However what have to do (my) disco wondering with Michal David? "You should know that Michal David..." this is conflict of point-of-views, you know. I say "no", he is NOT notable enough to be in English Wikipedia. It is all about it - Notability. RockandDiscoFanCZ (talk) 13:48, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Read correctly WP:NOEFFORT, which you cite. An article should be assessed based on whether it has a realistic potential for expansion, not how frequently it has been edited to date. There is a connection with our article, it is not in a good shape and should be rewritten. However, the bad shape is not an argument for deletion. Otherwise I don't understand the link in your comment. --Vejvančický (talk) 20:54, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep One of the best known pop/disco singers in modern Czech history. The DominatorTalkEdits 01:55, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- In fact, he is not a disco singer, but that's completely irrelevant. RockandDiscoFanCZ (talk) 09:16, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep IMHO he was one of the key persons of Czech pop music in his era, and even now he is influential (just recall he wrote a song for the Czech ice-hockey representation). I am not an expert in the field, nor following his career, but I doubt there are any books about Czech 80's pop music where he wouldn't be mentioned. Rikapt (talk) 11:55, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment. Uhh, if you wanted it speedy deleted why did you AfD nom, and which Speedy criterion does it fall under? Please do not disrupt Wikipedia to prove a point. The DominatorTalkEdits 15:07, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Nobody's saying something like "I want it deleted. Right now!" Stop accusing me from the untruth. RockandDiscoFanCZ (talk) 23:15, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- You said above that you wanted it speedy deleted, which is exactly wanting "it deleted. Right now!" Obviously, as you say, you do not want it speedy deleted and only said that to prove a point which is all I was saying. Also, if I can touch upon something- the reason it is so difficult to find online sources for him is because of his name which consists of two extremely internationally common first names, making it very difficult to search for him. If you are a Czech then I am sure you are familiar with how well-known he is (as much as you might hate him and his music). According to your userpage, you have a dislike for European music, and that's fine, but it doesn't make him any less notable. I don't like Rush Limbaugh or Paris Hilton, but I wouldn't advocate for the deletion of their respective Wikipedia articles. The DominatorTalkEdits 00:58, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Show me the sentence where I said "I want it speedy delete!" (where I break the WP:I DON'T LIKE IT rule). You're so wrong, I'm Czech and I never heard about so-called "well-known" artist michal david. This name is nearly unknown to me. I guess this is maybe some kind of HOAX or what. - Your "speedy delete" vote is here, for the record. The opinion of community is different, RockandDiscoFanCZ. A hoax?? I can't believe my eyes. --Vejvančický (talk) 13:56, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- However, mr. Vejvancicky, that vote by Guy Peters was without a comment. So "speedy keep" + "speedy delete" = 0. RockandDiscoFanCZ (talk) 14:41, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- That's exactly my point! You obviously don't actually want it speedy deleted, so you made that comment to PROVE A POINT (viz. WP:POINT). Whatever, it doesn't matter. And you think it's a hoax? Are you a conspiracy theorist by any chance? I find it very hard to believe you have never heard of him. Yes, there is crappy popular music I like to avoid (Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers etc.), but I've still heard of them! (as much as I wish I hadn't).
