List of world production[edit]

Of course production is notable as a general concept and people measure the production of specific things, but that is not enough to justify this list of "world production". This is a collection of statistics where no consistent methodology is discernible. For example, different ideas of what counts as production are applied for different chemical elements; different years are mixed together. The results can't meaningfully be compared, especially across sectors. A hypothetical acceptable list would need to be rescoped, renamed, and rewritten with completely replaced content and sourcing – in other words, not the same page at all. • Delete per nom and the fact that this would have to be a long, long, long, long, long list to account for all things produced. Clarityfiend (talk) 07:31, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:RAWDATA. It's unsourced anyway and probably original research. Ajf773 (talk) 09:12, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Totally unsourced, indiscriminate list with near-unlimited potential scope, even for the primary sector. Accounting for chemical elements is spotty and inconsistent; for example, the nitrogen figure includes ammonia, but the oxygen figure includes only pure oxygen; the yttrium figure probably includes all raw production, whereas the fermium figure is based on fallout from a single nuclear test in 1969. Not all elements have data, whereas the USGS maintains extensive data on metal production and usage. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 09:18, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Because the list includes data about chemical elements, WikiProject Elements has been notified of this AfD. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 09:23, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Production is listed in articles for each thing, there a template at the bottom of the article linking to it, and some entries on the list link to the information. List of countries by apple production and the many other such lists shows information in the same years for a proper comparison. The list includes things that have low production as well as things that produce hundreds of times more than these lowest items. If it only included the highest produced things, leaving nothing out, and having them for the same year, it might be a valid information list. Right now its just random stats.
