I'm a little surprised that this list has lasted as long as it has, as it's a direct violation of WP:NOTMEMORIAL: 'Wikipedia is not the place to memorialize deceased friends, relatives, acquaintances, or others who do not meet such requirements.' In general, 'lists of the dead' do not belong on Wikipedia, and have been rejected in many previous discussions. Tragic though this disaster was, creating online memorials is not what Wikipedia is for. Robofish (talk) 00:13, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Support, though reluctantly. It pains me to have to agree with this, but as the individuals are not previously notable, and the event is covered in the article Russian submarine K-141 Kursk, I am forced to agree. However, if anyone knows a relevant policy that allows the article to stand, I'm willing to listen. Boneyard90 (talk) 00:56, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge awards to Russian submarine Kursk explosion or Russian submarine K-141 Kursk, delete the rest per nom. Clarityfiend (talk) 02:01, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete I think when I made this article, I was trying to do something to save a list from Wikisource or something to that effect. I have no attachment to this article and the list could probably go away. I believe an external link to a list of the dead offwiki would suffice. - Summarize & merge or the other way around. Not a standalone page though. The Sound and the Fury (talk) 05:48, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. wikipedia is not a memorial. Nothing encyclopedic in the list of names. Info about awards is indeed missing from the parent article, but must be put there, with proper references (probably available from Russian wikipedia) Locador (talk) 04:30, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Summarize & Merge; the event which this list is related to is notable, and as such this content can be summarized and be added to the article about that event. If the article grows sufficiently, see WP:TOOLONG, then perhaps this can one day be spunout. --RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 16:31, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Totally inappropriate now and always, and not appropriate material for the article on the event either. NOT MEMORIAL is the valid policy for this. We already have an article on the Captain, which covers the award. DGG ( talk ) 02:34, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
