As per Talk:List_of_highest-grossing_Tamil_films#Proposed_merge_with_List_of_highest-grossing_Indian_films. The merge discussion emerged fruitless. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:38, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. This could be construed as an attempt to overrule the previous merge discussion. Is a merge outcome your goal? Jack N. Stock (talk) 05:05, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Not necessarily. I mean, if this list ends up being merged it'd be great, but it annoys me to see it as a separate article. But if it is deleted, it would be easy to put a create-protection template. The same can't be done for redirects though. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:10, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any reason why you can't just merge it, Kailash? The steps are fairly simple at WP:MERGE. Copy, paste with proper attribution in edit summary, create redirect, add Merged-from and Merged-to templates to talk pages... I'll also note that we're now at a point where offshoot articles have been created for a number of the other languages/ethnicities, like List of highest-grossing Kannada films and List of highest-grossing Telugu films. Oh, and what else did I see today? Oh yeah, List of highest-Domestic collection of Indian films, which for some reason focuses on domestic nett gross values. Anyway, I think this is kind of the thing WP:ICTF (whoever's left that isn't a sock operator) needs to band together to resolve or to leave alone. Well... he cant merge or do anything such while this AfD is open. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 04:25, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: In 2015, we clearly had a consensus (discussion here) which concluded in "merger into a single list for all films in India". Am not sure if @Kailash29792: is aware of it. If implementation of the consensus is a problem, like getting reverted every time, then take it to ANI.
As I wasn't part of that discussion, I support merger of all lists in one single page; for ease to readers and to editors so all shit remains in one place. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 05:39, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So apparently there has been more than one merger discussion, possibly several? It reads as if there are strong feelings on both sides. Jack N. Stock (talk) 06:04, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

  • Keep notable list with few reliable sources passes the notability. Rzvas (talk) 08:22, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Close this discussion and implement the consensus reached elsewhere. The nominator called the merge discussion "fruitless" but it appears to have been well-supported. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 00:02, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • I agree. It is time for admins to step in. There have been least two, probably more merge discussions, but I don't have the patience to research further. Editors are refusing to cooperate, so any conclusion is ineffective. I saw at least one merge discussion was decided on merge. Either merge or delete, stop the endless bickering. The end result of merge or delete is the same, as there is already a list of high-grossing Tamil films in List of highest-grossing Indian films anyway, and any high-grossing Tamil language film made in another country will be in that country's list of high-grossing movies. Basis for intervention is WP:NOTYOURS. Jack N. Stock (talk) 05:38, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
