- List of fighting styles in Fist of the North Star (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View log)
Fails WP:FICT due to lack of secondary sources, fails WP:NOT#PLOT due to being a long plot summary with no real world context Pilotbob 05:40, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete unless outside sources are found. Fee Fi Foe Fum 07:49, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge with the Fist of the North Star page. Doc Strange 16:32, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep - I was having second thoughts about this since many of the fighting styles in the series are very character-specific (Rakan Niouken used by Devil's Rebirth, Nishin Furaiken used by Raiga and Fuuga and so on) , but ultimately if Wikipedia can have articles like Jutsu (Naruto) and Spells in Harry Potter, then I don't see any problem. All it needs to be adequately sourced. Either that or merge with List of Fist of the North Star characters. Jonny2x4 02:29, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete This level of detail is unnecessary and unwarranted, especially when it is not given an encyclopedic treatment and does not contain any real world relevance or references. --Farix (Talk) 03:09, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, content lacks sources, and appears to be plain fancruft. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 07:39, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep - My first reaction was delete, but I'd like to suggest that we keep this. There are a number of child articles which should really go away and become redirects here, and Fist of the North Star is too long as it is. There's a cultural element here. As you can see in the Japanese version, which has an administrative template suggesting it be broken up, this is a fairly substantial topic in Japanese pop-culture fiction. I think an article about the martial arts styles which are a key feature of the story, not just throw-away plot elements, makes sense and helps to provide a merge target for the plethora of sub-articles about each style. -Harmil 21:28, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - Ironically, Sesshomaru cites the fancruft page without noticing that it a) does not constitute Wikipedia policy and b) notes that the claim can be used as a pejorative. The article should be sourced, preferably to individual mangas or some kind of compilation about FotNS, but for anyone looking to find out about FotNS having an understanding of the basis of the show, i.e. the martial arts, is vital. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ArekExcelsior (talk • contribs) 21:19, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep per Harmil's arguments: the individual styles (some of which are independently notable; see their individual AfDs) should be merged into here as a summary split from the main article. —Quasirandom 18:16, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep as per Harmil. Edward321 03:42, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
