Too broad in scope of a list topic to provide much value. inappropriate list RadioFan (talk) 22:35, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep - given the small size of the Georgian economy there are only so many notable companies that could be included in this list. Surely less than in say Japan or even Croatia. But someone with editing rights should move the article to List of companies of Georgia (country). 76.117.1.254 (talk) 03:35, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete per WP:SALAT. The topic of this list is too great to have an encyclopedic article written about it. When (theoretically) complete, this list would be immense and the comparison of one company to another would have little to no encyclopedic benefit. This is appropriate for a category, but not a list. ThemFromSpace 02:57, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, that's why this list should be split into categories (i.e. financial institutions, transport etc), so that if the list grows too large the categories can be moved out to a new page. That is actually what WP:SALAT says. Apart from that, how many notable companies do you think there are in Georgia? I mean, its not like the Georgian economy is particularly large. 76.117.1.254 (talk) 04:38, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Whether a small country or not, is is simply too braod a topic for a list.YobMod 11:50, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Again, that is not a valid argument as per WP:Salat the list can easily be broken down into smaller lists (according to the categories) once it grows too large. Not that this will happen anytime soon, if ever, because there are just not many notable companies in Georgia. 76.117.1.254 (talk) 14:46, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. The potential for being too long is simply an argument for splitting up the list when that potential is realised. There is nothing in WP:SALAT that indicates that deletion is the way to deal with potentially too potentially broad a topic. Phil Bridger (talk) 22:18, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep as for other countries. We can deal perfectly well with much longer lists than this is likely to be. Not to broad--it can be broken down further if necessary. DGG (talk) 17:30, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. An appropriate list which meets all policies and guidelines. Do those arguing to delete believe that all lists of companies by country are inappropriate, or is there some reason that Georgia should be singled out as a country that shouldn't have such a list? (And please do not respond with a non-answer like citing WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS.) DHowell (talk) 07:01, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment This also appears to be essentially a directory which is a definite no-no.--RadioFan (talk) 11:42, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- No, it doesn't. Read the footnote of this policy. Pantherskin (talk) 23:27, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. At this time, the list is small. If its broadness causes the list to become unreasonably large it can be renominated.--Pink Bull (talk) 00:53, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
