Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of civil parishes in Greater London
- The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the article below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the article's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this page.
The result was no consensus. There isn't much sentiment for a straight deletion, but opinions are divided among keeping (perhaps with a rename), merging, or redirecting. A discussion about merge/rename options on the article Talk page might be a good next step towards a resolution. RL0919 (talk) 21:51, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

This is a little bit of nonsense that seems to have been forgotten. A list of civil parishes in Greater London, consisting of one entry because there is only one. Queen's Park, the one entry has a page where it prominently discusses its unique status as a Greater London civil parish. The information is better treated there and nothing here need be merged there. The information in the lead is unsourced, but is also available at Civil parish where it is sourced and placed in context, so no information is lost if this page is deleted. - I almost want to Keep as the article provides a more sensible jumping off point for templates that collate such lists for different regions of the UK than just directly linking to Queen's Park, which could be unexpected. Also provides a pointer to go to the County of London historical list if that is what was wanted, and futureproofs the topic. I can see an argument for converting this to a redirect straight to a relevant section in Queen's Park, and will support that if other editors go for it, but having this article or at least some sort of DAB here seems neater from an organizational perspective. 193.37.240.169 (talk) 13:38, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- Delete doesn't make any sense to have a list with one entry which can't be expanded. No objection to a redirect. Hut 8.5 20:37, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- Move to Civil parishes in Greater London and keep the redirect. I agree with the IP that this should not be a red link, and given that the only problematic thing about the content is that it is a list of one the best thing to do seems to be to change it from a list to a standard article where the sourcing can be copied and context added if needed (I disagree that the information regarding London is better presented at Civil parish). Thryduulf (talk) 10:50, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- Keep and move per Thryduulf, like Civil parishes in Greater Manchester it may make sense to list the unparished areas, see User:Crouch, Swale/List of unparished areas#Greater London as long as the term "unparished area" is used in Greater London from 1965 rather than the rest of England from 1974. Bristol is a single unparished area which is why getting rid of List of civil parishes in Bristol would have made sense but this may not be the case with Greater London. Crouch, Swale (talk) 11:27, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- I think along with the proposed move, it could be merged with List of civil parishes in the County of London in 1891. Reywas92Talk 15:03, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- That would likely be inappropriate as that is a lost of parish in 1891 in the (smaller) County of London but a reverse merge could perhaps be don't but I'd suggest just moving and adding the unparished areas here may be better. There is also List of civil parishes in the City of London which starts with the current situation (it being a single unparished area, presumably like Bristol) but then going on to state the former ones. Greater London was formed from many areas thus has multiple unaprished areas if the term is used in Greater London. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:21, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
