- List of Nortel related articles (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View log · Stats)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
It is an unannotated list of which the links should all be part of the Nortel articles themselves. While WP:CLT states that lists can compliment categories and templates I don't see that in this case. This is one of a number of lists recently created by User:Ottawahitech. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 20:41, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete per WP:DOAL. This is better served by a category. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 21:36, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Clear case of WP:DOAL, like the other lists this user created in the past day or so. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 00:24, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- @FreeRangeFrog, yes you are absolutely correct. I also created this list, but no one has nominted it (or the articles linked in it) for deletion. Why is that do you think? Ottawahitech (talk) 14:12, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Thank you for bringing that to my attention. It's now nominated. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:48, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment. This appears to be more in the spirit of an outline, though it needs to be better structured. See for example Outline of Apple Inc. — Frankie (talk) 19:55, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete This list does not complement the category and is duplicating {{Nortel}}, which better serves its purpose. Ryan Vesey 04:12, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- @Ryan Vesey, you have voted Keep on another similar list also created by me and also nominated for deletion by user: Alan Liefting. Can you please explain why one list is a Keep while the other is a Delete. Thanks in advance, Ottawahitech (talk) 22:23, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment I believe the sole reason for this deletion nomination is to try and hide evidence of mass delettions. Am I the only editor who believes that this nominator (with the help of a couple of others) is removing all historic Nortel related articles+lists+wikiproject+portal one by one? Ottawahitech (talk) 14:01, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The evidence of these "mass nominations" cannot be hidden. AfDs are archived for all to see. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 21:38, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- @Alan Liefting, In that case would you kind enough to help people asking for evidence over here to find all the Nortel/Avaya deletion discussions started by you? Ottawahitech (talk)
- Keep per WP:NOTDUP, WP:LISTPURP,
WP:DOAL and WP:CLNOttawahitech (talk) 20:46, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- WP:NOTDUP: It is neither improper nor uncommon to simultaneously have a category, a list, and a navigation template which all cover the same topic'
- WP:LISTPURP:Redundancy of lists and categories is beneficial Ottawahitech (talk) 09:42, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- WP:NOTDUP and WP:DOAL are part of WP:CLN. WP:LISTPURP is a WP:MOS so it is not valid in a WP:AFD. But we should always think about the WP:READER. LOL -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 21:35, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- @Alan Liefting, Thanks for pointing out that WP:CLT and WP:NOTDUP are one and the same - funny you use it as rationale for deletion while I do the opposite. Ottawahitech (talk) 09:42, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I may be reaching here, but it's possibly because in the other articles, someone other than yourself has actually bothered to turn them into a useful list. Dumping unfinished slop into articlespace and then expecting everyone else to clean up after you is not the way to build the encyclopedia. Nor is disrupting it because you feel there's a vast conspiracy to delete stuff. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:50, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.
- Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, MBisanz talk 06:31, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Would be better as a category or "See Also" section in Nortel. 1292simon (talk) 11:01, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Note that there is already a Category:Nortel (with subcats) and a Template:NortelSystems. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 03:48, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment just wondering why some items are being removed from the list while this deletion discussion is taking place? Ottawahitech (talk) 16:31, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- There was one link removed because it is a redirect apparently. It is often the case that articles are edited while listed for AfD, although they are usually made to improve the article. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 17:54, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
