List of FIFA World Cup goalscorers

Though an interesting topic, this fails WP:NOTSTATS, as this article is simply a database / directory of everyone who has scored a goal in the World Cup. The first two sections should be kept somewhere, but the country by country tally of goals scored should be removed.

This article could be improved to just list the top scorers of each country, but we do not need to list the 2 players who have scored for Iceland, or the one player who has scored for Bolivia. Natg 19 (talk) 21:55, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No it doesn't cover it sufficiently. That is a total misunderstanding of what was important with the deleted page! The deleted page was NOT about top scorers, but a comprehensive (ranked) list of goalscorers per country in the world cup and how many goals they had scored in EACH world cup. The current "FIFA world cup top goal scorers" is seriously lacking in that regard and is information wise vastly inferior to the deleted page. I strongly disagree, I know many journalist and pundits who use these for statistical analysis, where do I go for complete lists of goals scorers per country?
