At the very least, the series itself is a reference for its own cast, and the cast of a notable series is hardly a trivial aspect of that subject. That said, whether this is best presented as a separate list or within a broader article is another question, and I think often something like List of Dad's Army characters is considered sufficient to list cast, though it's not readily organized around that information at present. postdlf (talk) 16:16, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested prod, the contestor just said "could sue some more referencing, but sheesh" (sic) which I don't think is much of an explanation. I think Postdlf may have grasped the point, that this article does not add anything of substance which is not already in List of Dad's Army characters, which already mentions the actors who played a number of fairly minor characters. I question whether this article is ever likely to be totally comprehensive, given that Dad's Army lasted for 9 TV series plus a few radio series and the film. Also, I note that this article was originally created by a bot using actors already in the category "Dad's Army actors", which suggests it was never necessarily that important.   - The point of that discussion was to avoid having dozens of categories on the actors' articles for every show that they appeared in. The consensus seemed to be that lists were more practical and that's what we have here. That discussion therefore supports retention of this list, not its deletion. Keep/merge The topic is notable per WP:LISTN, being documented in sources such as this and that. The show is still repeated and when one of the cast died recently, it was all over the press. It might be sensible to merge this in with the character list but the list of actors has value in itself as a navigational list which gets plenty of traffic - hundreds of hits on some days. Delete Wonderful series, but this article adds little to any discussion of it, is unlikely ever to be fully updated (there are hundreds of cast members listed in Richard Webber's 'Complete Dads Army A-Z' for example), and so far as I can see Warden's web link points to the fact that Dads Army had a well-known primary cast not this partial list of some actors who were in the series (and all the notable ones are already covered in the main article). Delete General consensus is that TV programs have character lists summerising their role on the show, not a list of credits. I don't believe that every actor who may have participated on this show is inherently notable, especially since there is no indication on what roles are being played on this cast list. I also think List of Dad's Army characters is a more comprehensive list and this is a poor attempt at duplicating that. Funny ^Pika! 00:50, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
