At 2008 AfD, there was no consensus (please see 1st AfD for very good arguments both ways). I feel this is too indiscriminate a list, that duplicates other pages. Boleyn (talk) 15:07, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Keep and move to List of Asian Canadians. That's the name of our article on it and it's the name used in scholarly commentary ([1] [2]). This is a topic discussed as cohesive elsewhere. However, there is a danger of OR here: just because someone is, say, Chinese Canadian or Indo-Canadian, doesn't necessarily make them Asian Canadian if they haven't been discussed as such in a RS. AleatoryPonderings (talk) 15:32, 16 August 2020 (UTC)- I like pburka's suggestion below better. Would be better for navigation, as the parent category has several hundred people in it. So I am now move and rewrite per pburka. I would help out with restructuring if this is kept, since it seems like some sort of substantial change will be in order if consensus is to keep. AleatoryPonderings (talk) 05:16, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- KEEP It is not indiscriminate, since it has very specific inclusion requirements. Category:Canadian people of Asian descent shows there are articles on them. I see List of Filipino Canadians exist. Are there other pages that list every single name listed here in a different list? Dream Focus 01:21, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
- Delete The table duplicates Asian_Canadians#Ethnic_Origins, and Category:Canadian people of Asian descent has well over 900 people in its subcategories. A mere bullet-pointed list of that size is indisriminate and does not serve readers. This would duplicate pages like List of Chinese Canadians, List of Filipino Canadians, List of Indo-Canadians, Japanese_Canadians#Notable_People, and Taiwanese_Canadians#Notable_Taiwanese_Canadians_(including_those_currently_not_residing_in_Canada), etc, so yes I would expect all names here to be (or belong) on another. This could instead be a dab page, but a massive lumped, duplicative list is inappropriate, even more so such a subset with no criteria. Category:Canadian people shows there articles on all sorts of categorizations, but they should not all be repeated in multiple list formats just because it's an actual topic. Reywas92Talk 03:17, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
- Delete as too broad and indiscriminate. Asian Canadians make up 17.7% of the population as of 2016, more than 1 in 6 people. Besides, we already have List of Chinese Canadians, List of Filipino Canadians, List of Korean Canadians. I'm not entirely convinced that even those are worth keeping, but if so, why reinvent the wheel? Better to add other nationalities. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:40, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
- Keep and move to List of Asian Canadians per AleatoryPonderings suggestion. Fulfills our criteria for WP:NLIST Wm335td (talk) 19:30, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- Move and rewrite as Lists of Asian Canadians (a list of lists). I agree that the topic is too broad, but this page can act as a navigation aid to more specific lists. Note that Category:Canadian people of Asian descent is almost entirely a parent category. pburka (talk) 20:27, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- Move and rewrite per pburka. Corachow (talk) 20:50, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
- Delete, indisciminate list, redundant to Category:Canadian people of Asian descent. Stifle (talk) 15:41, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- Delete. We already have numerous much more specific lists of Canadians by particular Asian nationality (e.g. Chinese Canadians, Japanese Canadians, etc.) and can easily create any that are missing — so a contextless one-stop catchall for all Asian Canadians is simply redundant to other content that we already have. - Delete: This is WP:LISTCRUFT. The topic itself is neither notable nor cited in the list-article. Some editor used WP:SYNTH in the lede to indicate a (false-)notability, which was gleaned from raw census data. To wit:
"Asian Canadians comprise the largest visible minority in Canada, at 11% of the Canadian population."
The citation says no such thing. Normal Op (talk) 18:32, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
