According to Pro Football Reference, Murphy has never played in an NFL game [1], didn't play in CFL either, so he fails WP:NGRIDIRON unless there's an arena football or XFL playing career I couldn't find. His college career didn't stand out enough to meet WP:NCOLLATH. Coverage is largely routine, mostly pieces such as this brief signing announcement. I've found one good piece here. Fairly brief piece stating he was inducted into a NN local hall of fame. This piece is about his brother, and only mention Kevin obliquely. This is from an unreliable blog. This is a fairly routine piece stating that he had to go to the hospital. Only mentioned in two sentences here He's not that far from GNG, but I'm not seeing enough to get him across that bar, since he fails NGRIDIRON and NCOLLATH. He did win an award (Joe Wolfe I think) in college, but it's not one of the awards that passes NCOLLATH and there's a lot of NN college football awards out there. I just don't think this article quite reaches notability. Hog Farm Bacon 18:54, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • delete nice work of WP:BEFORE on the part of the nominator. I have to agree based on the article as presented. Generally, Div I-AA/FCS offensive linemen don't meet our notability guidelines without some other measurable achievement and that seems to be the case here.--Paul McDonald (talk) 01:16, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. My initial search turned up an in-depth profile of Murphy from The Boston Globe that can be viewed here. If additional significant coverage turns up, I could be persuaded that WP:GNG is satisfied. Cbl62 (talk) 20:23, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yep, that's the one good piece I identified in my nomination. Hog Farm Bacon 20:26, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. College offensive linemen (even more so those at the FCS level) rarely receive GNG-level coverage, and Murphy does not appear to be an exception to the general rule. Other than the one feature story uncovered by the nominator, my searches did not locate additional examples of significant coverage in reliable, independent sources. • Delete per all above. Fails WP:GNG. Ejgreen77 (talk) 10:40, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete you have to play in a game to gain notability, not just be involved in pre-season practices.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:20, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
