To summarize: we have a BLP for which I can find two unreliable sources, both of them indicating the subject's non-notability. Delete. Drmies (talk) 19:02, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- One, the google test is not a reliable indication of notability for a Congolese basketball player formerly in Latvia. What we need to determine is whether he actually played with ASK Riga or not. If he did, he is a professional basketball player and thus automatically notable; if he didn't, then it is much harder. How is your Latvian?[1]--TM 19:06, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I am not sure what to make of this, this and this.--TM 19:11, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- My Latvian sucks, but that first link doesn't produce anything for me anyway (no text at least). I'm not a big fan of working on sports articles, because a lot of things that are presented as references are websites that don't strike me as notable or reliable. So that second link, I can't make anything of it, and what LCC means is unclear to me. Your third link states he played a game against TCU for Latvian Christian--that wouldn't make him notable (like not all NCAA players are automatically notable). The last link also doesn't help for notability--again, if it is reliable it places him at a two-year college. His only hope for notability (here, anyway--I'm sure he's plenty notable as a seven-foot African 24-yr old freshman in a community college) lies with that club in Latvia. I agree, if it can be established that he played with ASK Riga he is probably notable (are they playing at a level where they are automatically notable?), but I just don't see that proven reliably--again, the source with the article suggests he didn't play with them at all. Thanks for your digging around, and my apologies, BTW, for not dropping you a line notifying you of the AfD. Drmies (talk) 19:19, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete. He does seem to be very unnotable. Endofskull (talk) 00:52, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Drmies nailed this one. We can't even verify that he played at any level above the college one. RayTalk 03:54, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Fails WP:BIO through lack of reliable sources showing he ever played professionally or at the highest amateur level for a country. Edison (talk) 14:21, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
