This article technically passes WP:NSPORT, since he played a single UEFA Cup match between two WP:FPL clubs nine years ago. However, considering that that match is the only claim to notability per WP:NSPORT and that the article comprehensively fails WP:GNG, I think it falls within the scope of the clause in the lede of WP:NSPORT that meeting of any of these criteria does not mean that an article must be kept.
