Per recent talk page discussions at Talk:April 2021 United States Capitol car attack/Archive 1#Separate article for William Evans (police officer) and a bundled AfD discussion that I've opened earlier on the United States Capitol Police officers slain in the 1998 United States Capitol shooting, I've also decided to open a separate AfD discussion for Liebengood as well, per WP:SPLIT and WP:BLP1E.

Unlike Brian Sicknick, Liebengood's death isn't being classified as a homicide and there is no ongoing investigation into his death, since it's quite obvious how and why he died. He wasn't even laid in honor at the United States Capitol, a basis of notability that's currently being contested. At most, Liebengood will be a footnote in the broader context of the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol. Love of Corey (talk) 00:52, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The only investigation regarding Liebengood's death is whether it should be considered an in-the-line-of-duty death or not, not whether there are any suspects to be sought out in connection with that death. Love of Corey (talk) 05:08, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Comment/Weak Delete -- Liebengood doesn't fit the notability criteria. However his father already has a Wiki page. Howard Liebengood Sr Howard Jr has already been added to that article under #family. I suggest we merge this article into that paragraph since the death is not notable as much as tragic and fresh in the minds of people. If more information about his death in regards to the Capitol Riot attacks, then maybe he can get a stand alone page later.
Keep -- unlike other officers, Liebengood found minor celebrity as a professional auto racer prior to entering law enforcement, winning the Motorola Cup and sponsorship from major corporations. In addition, Liebengood had a notable family background, law enforcement career, and death. Contrast with, for example, Warwick Banks or Jon Dooley or any number of people who are truly only notable for their racing careers. Feoffer (talk) 03:27, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Weak delete unless more sources are found. Per WP:NSPORTS, he doesn't qualify - the series is minor, and he wasn't even part of the main event. All news coverage I can find of his racing career is what I would consider "routine" - and very little is biographic at all, not to mention significant and independent. I could be swayed otherwise if (especially offline) sources can be found and presented that lend more notability to his racing career, but unless he is meeting WP:GNG based on those sources, he does not meet WP:NSPORTS for a presumption, let alone actual notability. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez (User/say hi!) 22:31, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
