Doesn't meet notability guidelines WP:ARTIST, WP:AUTHOR or WP:BIO. He's painted portraits of notable people for notable customers, but WP:Notability is not inherited. I can't find substantial coverage of him in WP:RS online, just passing mentions of him in local press when he's painted a portrait of someone notable, or of a local war hero. His book was self-published on Nook, and the book mentions of him cited are from self-publishing outlets. Sounds like an interesting person who does a lot of worthwhile community work, but doesn't yet pass notability guidelines. The Mighty Glen (talk) 09:30, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

- Keep per WP:SIGCOV. Although he has drawn little attention in the art world, Crumbley's realistic portraits garner a good deal of attention in the media. Profile articles about Crumbley have run in the major newspapers including St. Petersburg Times: Greg Crumbly [STATE Edition, Poiley, Joel. , 19 Sep 2003]; Sarasota Herald Tribune, IN ART, WAR'S DEAD LIVE ON: A veteran paints portraits to give to survivors of troops killed in Iraq, O'Donnell, Christopher. 21 Nov 2007 ; Sarasota Herald-Tribune: A veteran paints portraits to give to survivors of troops killed in Iraq (open source). I would say that these long profiles in major, large-circulaiton, metro daily papers carry him past WP:SIGCOV, and that they certainly do so in combination with this profile of him in his earlier career as a police officer, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Policeman draws his No. 2 pencil to get the bad guys, Fuoco, Michael A. 05 Mar 1995. In addition there have been a great many news articles like For Love of His Country (Delgado, Angela. Tampa Tribune21 June 2008)(paywalled Proquest source), an article about a memorial ceremony for a fallen soldier where a portrait by "artist Greg Crumbly painted a "Portrait of Life," that displays the Marine in his uniform surrounded by vignettes of his life" was displayed. Also among the hits on a Proquest news archive search there are a surprising number that include him in articles about artists who are commercially successful, like this 2004 Boston Globe story: THEY'VE CARVED OUT NICHE ; ARTISTS WHOSE FOCUS IS SPORTS ARE FINDING A SELLER'S MARKET: " Sports fans, like art enthusiasts, are sometimes big collectors... best exemplified by the (Buccaneers fan) in Tampa... an art collector whose (colllection includes) 11 oil paintings of Tampa Bay players by Valrico, Fla., artist Greg Crumbly."E.M.Gregory (talk) 16:36, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
- Nomination withdrawn: wow. If only those sources were available un-paywalled, I'd never have considered bringing this to AFD. Thanks User:E.M.Gregory, for your diligent search on ProQuest. And if you're paying for that ProQuest subscription out of your own pocket, then I owe you a big pan of brownies. The Mighty Glen (talk) 16:45, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
