Doesn't really go beyond WP:GNG, with some sources even taking from the Youtube channel itself. The rest of the sources are either WP:SPIP or WP:SBST. It honestly reads more like a promotional biography for the channel by an enthusiastic fan, especially if you look at the YoTtube career subsection which is much more bloated than other Youtubers who has tens of millions of subscribers. This specific YouTuber doesn't even have 250,000 subscribers. Ekuftle (talk) 11:28, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep per the significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources.
    1. 鈴木あかね (2020-06-23). "【アジアで会う】ジブおじさん シンガポール在住ユーチューバー 第304回 動画で両国の架け橋に(シンガポール)" [[Meet in Asia] Uncle Ghib Ojisan, a YouTuber living in Singapore. 304th video, bridges the two countries (Singapore)]. NNA Japan (in Japanese). Kyodo News. Archived from the original on 2021-06-29. Retrieved 2021-06-29.

The article notes from Google Translate: "Ghib Ojisan (Uncle Jib = undisclosed real name) Born in 1990, from Osaka prefecture. He spends his time in California from the age of two until he graduates from high school. After graduating from Keio University, he got a job in Japan, but retired in 2017. Embark on a journey aiming for a round of the world. While playing the guitar on the street, he traveled to 27 countries and regions and continued to post on the video site "YouTube". Moved to Singapore in 19 after marrying a Singaporean woman. Currently, he has set up his own company and is looking for business to connect Japan and Singapore."

    2. Awang, Nabilah (2019-12-21). "S'pore-based Japanese vlogger scores surprise hits with videos on Yishun, HDB flats". Today. Archived from the original on 2021-06-29. Retrieved 2021-06-29.

The article notes: "When TODAY met him at a Starbucks outlet in Raffles City on Wednesday (Dec 18), the sprightly YouTuber, who divulged only his first name, Ken, was hard at work talking to his camera. Born in Osaka but raised in the United States until he was 19, he spent one year backpacking to 27 countries around the world, busking and filming his experiences. This was until he accepted a job offer in Singapore and decided to move here alone. He declined to disclose the job he signed up for, but has since left that job and is currently working as a full-time vlogger, while also managing Nekkyo Singapore — an online site which offers tips and tricks to Japanese readers who intend to move here or visit the country."

    3. Wong, Kayla (2019-12-15). "Japanese YouTuber makes video to explain to Japanese what Japan did to S'pore in WWII". Mothership. Archived from the original on 2021-06-29. Retrieved 2021-06-29.

The article notes: "A Japanese YouTuber living in Singapore has made a video on the Japanese Occupation of Singapore back in the years 1942 to 1945. Ghibli Ojisan (or Uncle Ghibli), as he calls himself, regularly puts up videos documenting his life in Singapore — he also recently vlogged about a visit he made to Yishun, a place he found to be not so "dangerous" after all:  However, in the video titled "What did Japan do to Singapore?", he decided to delve into the touchy piece of history that happened between the two countries back in the 1940s."

    4. Sholihyn, Ilyas (2020-01-09). "Japanese vlogger calls Sembawang Hot Spring Park a 'legit onsen'". AsiaOne. Archived from the original on 2021-06-29. Retrieved 2021-06-29.

The article notes: "Ghib Ojisan made a return to the heartlands of Yishun recently to check out the refurbished park — partly to see how it compares to the hot spring facilities he’s used to back home, and partly to try his hand at boiling an egg using the heated spring water. Which is totally a thing there. But before making the sojourn there, the YouTuber made sure to visit Chong Pang Market & Food Centre nearby to nosh on duck rice from Michelin Big Gourmand-recognised Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck. It’s clear that the vlogs documenting his adventures around Singapore have earned him some fame, judging from the repeated instances of residents recognising him."

There is sufficient coverage in reliable sources to allow Ghib Ojisan to pass Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline, which requires "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject".

    Cunard (talk) 19:40, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article uses two sources from the subject. The article uses one of the subject's YouTube videos to verify that the flat he purchased was a Housing and Development Board flat. The rest of the information in the sentence about the flat purchase is verified by the AsiaOne article, an independent reliable source. The article uses one of the subject's Twitter posts as a source to verify when he was born. The use of the two sources meets the requirements of WP:BLPSELFPUB.

The article is neutrally written. It is not "a promotional biography for the channel by an enthusiastic fan".

That the subject "doesn't even have 250,000 subscribers" is immaterial to whether he is notable. Per WP:NOTBIGENOUGH, "A commonly seen argument at AfD is 'Subject has X number of Y, that's notable/non-notable'. Notability isn't determined by something's quantity of members, but rather by the quality of the subject's verifiable, reliable sources."

  • Comment: @Cunard: I did the DYK review for this article and I do have to say that some parts of the article do seem promotional, as it describes a lot of his videos in detail. Even though they get press, it still does lean towards trivia and is not notable. lullabying (talk) 05:38, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as per the multiple reliable sources significant coverage identified above by Cunard that shows enough for a pass of WP:GNG so that deletion is unnecessary in my view. Issue of over-detail can be discussed on the article talk page as there is disagreement on the matter, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 01:46, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Notability is judged by significant coverage by multiple RSes, not by subscriber count. The multitude of sources used in the article demonstrate that WP:GNG is met. The use of self-published sources found in the article are appropriate per WP:ABOUTSELF. There are concerns about excessive detail which IMO are valid, but those are grounds for trimming, not deletion. ~ KN2731 {talk · contribs} 03:47, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
