fails WP:GNG. a mere 8 gnews hits. [1]. 5 of those are from prweb.com which is a site for getting your news release published like in gnews. LibStar (talk) 13:48, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - I'm not seeing any substantial claim of notability. A Google News search produces one source that is seemingly reliable but the coverage is simply a small blurb (not significant coverage in my opinion). A Google News Archive search produces 8 hits and as LibStar mentioned, 5 of them are PR publications (not independent). Of the four references listed on the article, 2 are published my MixOnline which is owned by a PR firm called PentonMedia (not independent). Proof of their connection can be seen here. The ASCAP article is about how ASCAP sponsored the event/organization (not independent). The last and most concerning of the references is from "GamesOpt" which is an obvious play on a reliable and independent source known as GameSpot. The website's owner is hidden behind layers of buffer companies (GamesOpt is owned by one company who's owned by another and so on) and was created on 08-Feb-2010 despite the claims on the website. In short, the website is not only unreliable, it seems very dubious that the author would use such a dubious website as a reference on an article that appeared in a single edit in the author's userspace. Not only should this article be deleted, the page should be carefully monitored, the user should be carefully monitored, and we should be checking WP for any articles that use GamesOpt as a reference.
